MY COMMENTS:
This is a Cape Dutch house on a wine estate in Cape Town. I'm still coming to terms with oils and just keep putting layer upon layer of colour on until I think I'd better stop.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I would appreciate any c+comments and advice in general. Is it possible to paint over canvases after so many layers of paint? Do you have to apply a coat of anything to hide the painting prior to starting again?

Vicky, there are only two things that stand out as confusing here: if the bold white outline on the roof of the building is necessary, it could be broken slightly with other pale colors. The tree in front of it (left)--this could use a very small horizontal (dark? shadow?) line to help ground it. Where is this located? The mountain landscape is handled beautifully!

Thanks Nikkico, The white on the roof is sort of an extension of the house which is one of the features of Cape Dutch houses. There are lots of this type of house in Cape Town, South Africa. I did shade the white a bit which doesn't show well in the photo. I see what you mean about the tree floating. I can rectify that. Many thanks.

The mountains and sky are masterfully done. some variation in the color of the house should settle it into that sense of place. It doesn't have to be white white.
