Re: Black & red abstract

Really like this one... my favorite colors black and red (or some form of red). On the bottom left, the black color almost has the look of motor oil. Don't know why I think this.

very very nice.

Re: Black & red abstract

Strong colour and energetic marks grab my attention immediately but, I'm finding the red shape pointing downwards is taking my eye straight off the canvas. Also, the spattering underneath has created a black negative shape that is also triangular and pointing off the canvas. Although all the action is at the top, I feel the weight is at the bottom and unbalanced. Sorry, I don't mean this to sound too direct! Maybe revolving the canvas would help?

Re: Black & red abstract

The black is not is fooling the eye a bit, because its not dried all of it, therefore some parts are mat while some parts are shiny... when it's dried and glossed, it will look a bit different... But thanks
@Brushwaggler
Dont worry about being direct, i dont mind
I do see where ur getting at, but i still think the paint drops equals it out a bit. I dont think this is my best painting, visually speaking, but the energy in it is in my opinion immense. It is the output of something imperfect, and contradictive, so i didn't want to spend much time on finetuning and correcting, because hopefully, it leaves the viewer with a unfullfilled impression... I did try revolving the canvas though, and don't think it makes it better
