Hello everyone,
Just found out this weekend that I won 1st place (Orange County, CA fair) in the graphics/illustration category and an honorable mention in the pastel group. The pieces are called 'Mask of Tutankhamen' and 'Straight Right', respectively.
My first art contest ever, 2 entries, and 2 ribbons, including a first place! And the competition was fierce and numerous. Maybe next year I'll enter some of my oils, I got some big still lives going on right now, in the middle of the grisaille stage.

Right on nice job with Pastels, I've been seeing a lot done in this medium lately and the realistic outcome is superb. Hey I see your from Huntington Beach, I've been trying to get back there for 15 years.

Good morning, Everyone!!! Looks like another hot and busy day here..went for my walk a little early, now I suppose I will be sleepy by noon! It is beautiful out right now though..the moon is low and there is only the slightest cool breeze...

Good morning everyone. I spent the past couple of days in the hospital. I had bad chest pains and with my medical history ... Anyway it looks like I will be getting stent number 16 ( I have 15 now plus a trible bypass ). Hospital I was in didn't have a cath lab.

 Becca, thanks for the heads up on August, I blame it on being up at 6 ayem. 
Alan congratulations on winning! I would imagine there is a alot of competition at the OC county fair, it's huge.
Paul, I am sorry to hear you are having more major health issues. Good luck with the surgery. 
It's a beautiful morning, damp, cool, & overcast, I am going to go do my yardwork/exercise.

It is still damp, but no longer cool and overcast. I did about an hour of yardwork, and came in to cool off and dry out! I am pretty grateful for the relatively mild summer it has been so far, here. Everyone elsewhere who have been enduring this heatwave for what seems like forever, have my sympathy!
