WDE May 25, Waterlilly
My two hour mark on a highly cropped waterlilly. Alas as I started, I thought I had the flower in the bottom right hand quadrant but somehow it wound centered vertically on the right side. Alas my bad.
11 by 14 inch, Gouache on 140# watercolor paper.
I took some liberties with the reference photo. (as always)
Suggestions for improvement welcome.

Re: Waterlilly
Hal, these luscious shapes are spectacular so full of color and light, then the white lotus blossom just sets the lilypads off perfectly.

Re: Waterlilly
I'll be brief, I'm working on a backup computer in an inconvient location. My main is down again with the same symptons that required me to take it to the shop two weeks ago.
Kay. Leya, Joel, EP, Beth, thank you.
Yes Cindy I had trouble getting my water on the leaves to read as water. I hope your comment means I succeeded.
Thank you Gail and Thank you for the great Refs.

Re: Waterlilly
I like this. Great depth of water, good leaves with nicely painted edges and a lovely flower. It doesn't bother me that its on the edge (water lilies seem to drift where they want to go )
Well done.
