I just don't walk at all in that part of town  . 90% of street crossing here is jay walking so you kinda get caught up in it. A friend of mine got stopped by a policeman once for jay walking. He told him he was is a real hurry so the copper said, alright, I'll write your ticket out quickly  .

True, but rarely does one get assaulted after being run over.
At least my walking is not Jay and is in Colorado not Johannesburg.
