Really Blatant Art Theft or Don't Try This At Home

http://now.msn.com/now/0504-romanian-art-thief.aspx

A Romanian art thief took Picaso's advice that "great artists steal" a bit too literally. He put on a show featuring images that he had downloaded from the web and printed out on canvas.

Before being caught he recieved great critical aclaim.

Many of the images he stole were digiutally produced video game concept art. I hope that this story brings digital artists, especially those working in the gaming industry, some of the recognition they deserve for the images they produce.

As for the DIY art show, if only it was that easy, we'd all be rich.

Me too, some of their work is incredible. They don't get much respect for it, it seems.
It's astounding what people think they can away with. Shame on him.

This actually happens quite often these days Anger is the first reaction when you hear this kind of thing, but really we should just pity these sad people...

This reminds me of a guy a few years ago who was applying to jobs in the video game industry using a portfolio consisting entirely of other peoples work! He was actually hired by a few and they lost money, and the people he stole work from also faced troubles.
