The Oil Gusher May 2012
Good Morning! It's a new month and time to start over on the Gusher. So come in and share your joys, concerns...or just the day to day routine and lets get acquainted.
Let's all have a great month.
Good morning Pat.

Re: The Oil Gusher May 2012
hello, good news from southwest France,
today the rain has finally stopped, the sun's shining . It's been raining for 3 weeks non stop, we're tired of it here.
Next sunday, we'll vote for a new president, or maybe not a new one....

Hello, Lumiere. I hate rain, three weeks of rain would probably put me in a Psych ward.
It's raining here today.

Hal,
As beautiful as Oregon is, we just finished out the last three months of official rain. Believe me, you'd be in a Psych ward out here . Good news is, summer is coming!
Truly, though, I'm ready to relocate to a climate with the four seasons. Everything is great until January through April.
regards,

Cory, I would never survive on the Oregon coast. Although I love the New England coast, I could also be happy in the Desert.

Bonjour Lumiere - enchante
Bienvenue a la famillie Oil PAstels
We are a lvoely friendly bunch - it is always great to see new people. Please feel free to have a go too at our oil pastel challenge this month...
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show....php?t=1102122
been wet and miserable today but I had to venture out to do a show plus sort out niggly issues with the studios - needed to see IT about computer updates and - we've had a leak in the green room, through the window and all over our sofa and floor and it happily missed the electrical stuff we store in there.
Looking forward to the weekend. i am the on air Anchor for Anker radio for our big 'Battle of the Bands contest. I will be reporting back live and doing the desk and solo running the on air end of things, interviewing the bands, judges, sponsors etc and filling in between change overs. Big night but at lerast I won't have to do the presenting on stage this time. They need 2 of them to replace me haha I used to do it alone at festivals lol oh well... I am out of the way in a sold out venue, protected from the crowds by a desk and table and microphone with Dave doing the runnign about. Big night for us!! Should be a good fundraiser. over Ł600 in ticket sales not to mention raffle and on the night fundraising!
My forefinger on my right hand is very painful. I think it could be because i've been too 'sick to paint or anythign much (apart from gnome restoration) and I've been tapping my keyboard on line for several days due to boredom lol
Oh well Happy first of May and traditional first day of Summer (in the old ways calendar)
Britain is such a paradox. I'm sure we must be the only country in the world to have a hose pipe band and a drought after the wettest April on record, severe weather warnings and flash floods.
Steve- I am sure you will love Twycross (if you ever have a day dry enough to go).
I had toyed with the idea of the SAAS events. both are a good drive for me. Manchester, M6 UGH, traffic, getting lost hmm offputting. Bristol a bit far! So not sure.
I might try the 'Art In Action' as it is in a country manor so won;'t have to face the 'big city', might even do Patchings this year.
btw Steve I'm entering the UKCPS annual exhibition this year that is in my home town of Nuneaton in October!

Re: The Oil Gusher May 2012
Happy May day! and good morning Shirl, a little late.
Welcome lumiere to our chat.
It is raining here also and quite chilly. We need the rain badly, but it could stop tomorrow.
Busy few days with visitors and calss for my DH. The visiting urse came today for the first time and was here all morning, then our priest and then a visitor. Time to chill out now. DH did manage to get a nap in.
I hope to get to my studio tomorrow while my daughter is here to water plants and pick up some art for framing. No art for awhile.
Going to make a stew for supper now....
Have a good evening all.

Re: The Oil Gusher May 2012
Seems like most of us are having rain. We had an hour and half trip into the city for a dental appointment for my daughter. It rained off and on all day, part way through the city we noticed it had hailed and then the lightening started. The dental clinic lost power and we will reschedule tomorrow, when their computers are back online. But at least it is not snow, for now....

Re: The Oil Gusher May 2012
No rain here, boo hoo. I've decided to quit watering. Not that I've actually been doing it. Plants that can't make it on moisture drawn from the humidity will be replaced by those that can. It's weird that it can be humid and in drought at the same time.
Joy to the world, today will be my first day on Meals on Wheels. Keep your fingers crossed that it's not a bomb. I'm so looking forward to not having to worry about what to fix for lunch (main meal) and so tired of prepared boxes of frozen entrees.

Re: The Oil Gusher May 2012
Good luck with the meals, Shirl. My SIL has that and loves it.
Still gloomy here, Hal and for a few more days as you say. DH will have to do his walks in the house.
I am going out to do errands and order some frames. Taking advantage of my daughter being here. It will be relatively calm today so we can all veg out a little, just the VN coming and the cleaning lady.
