May Landscape Challenge

I have been a little home sick, and I dig out some photos I took of Venezuela, where I was born. I took these pictures probably 15 to 20 years ago, so I apologize for the image quality not being digital. I also included a couple of extra landscape photos I like, so I hope you all enjoy them!
This is an activity thread for artists of all experience levels, and that work in any medium. Since this is a group activity, we can pool our knowledge and resources, and grow as artists in a fun, no-pressure atmosphere. No critiques unless specifically asked for. Please, no harsh critique! The intent is to have fun, try new things, and experiment.

Glad you all like the photos! I am doing an oil painting of the Angel Falls. I was hoping to finish by today, but it will take me a couple more days ....

Your piece is so beautiful ... and I love the color scheme!
My dad had land in that area of the island ... he loved that spot, you made me think how much he would have loved your painting!

Here is my try on the Angel Falls, I think I am finish ... probably need to stare at it a we bit longer to be sure .... any CC are welcome.

Maria - Thank you very much. You captured the beauty and feeling of the falls IMHO.
That cloud in the ref photo is very attractive to me. Tried to give it center stage and will probably try again.

I like the way you handled the falls Maria - nice colour too.
Trier - love those towering clouds - d'you mind me saying that very smooth water would give a beautiful contrast with them? - but I really like the importance you've given them |
