Sinuous Wave

This is a smaller abstract than I've done recently - 8 x 10 inches on canvas board. The background is a mixture of raw umber and cadmium yellow and the lines are done in vermilion. This was based on a doodle that I did in a boring meeting - there's an hour and a half of my life that I won't get back!

It is rather nice, so actually the hour and a half was well spent designing this, even though you may not have realized it at the time. I especially like the flow of the background. I like the red of the line, but I am finding I like when brush strokes are more loose and not so orderly as the line in your painting. But, having said that, I couldn't do a work this good, so my hat is off to you. By the way, the red circle was essential to making this painting work, so good one there.

Thanks very much for the positive response. I always try to keep the brushstrokes showing in all my paintings as I like to show movement. I enjoyed doing the doodle and the painting so you're right to say that the time wasn't wasted, although there were moments when I thought that I was going to lose the will to live!!!

Yes I always doodle in meetings - and I go to far too many - it's the only way to stay sane. Thanks for the positive responses!
