You would be better off using Comart colors Transparent Smoke.

It is already super transparent, and if applied lightly enough can be erased to restore highlights.
These 3 paintings were done with Trans Smoke on a hard surfaces with the erasing technique No white was used except for the highlights of Phil's eyes. The only black was on the suit jacket of George.
