Accidentally cut the hardboard to the wrong size

So I bought an 8x4 ft hardboard panel and cut it to different sizes, some 8x10, some 11x14, well you know, standard sizes because it's cheaper on the framing. I also needed some 9x12 but somehow, I accidentally ended up with a pile of 9x11 instead!
I tried to find decent frames for 9x11 paintings and I only found picture/poster/photo frames.
What do you think, is it done to use those kind of frames for paintings?
I just hate to waste these boards, of course I could use them for practicing, but what if they all turn into 'masterpieces'?

now, this is just me, but those frames are usually thinner than I like. since you only have a few, paint on them and if they turn out great, just order chops and frame them right.

Why not just cut them down to 8x10, or you could get two 5x7's from each.

I already have a whole pile of those, it's just that I wanted to see if anybody has ever used poster frames for paintings or if it's just a no-no.
