Re: Framing Scratchboard/Claybord

I have always framed my scratchboard without glass. I have not had any damage done to any of my pieces but have exhibited mostly locally where I live in NYC so I can hand deliver work. I am feeling a bit nervous about shipping without glass. I have also found that some exhibits specify that they will not accept glass, only plexiglass used with framed works. I really don't know how to frame myself so will be going to a frame shop. Besides scratchboard I do a lot of pen and ink on clayboard. Mostly work on cradled clayboard and don't frame at all. I spray to protect the work and wax the wood around the sides. But again I am wondering whether I should frame with glass/plexiglass. Basically, I am not sure what I should be doing, what most people do. I welcome advise. Thank you very much.
