Re: rocks
The texture and lighting on the rocks is wonderful! Would love to see the background smoothed out a bit as I find it distracts from the lovely focal point.

The brown circle on the bottom right is a bit confusing. It looks blurred and doesn't quite fit in with the level of detail in the surrounding rocks.

Re: rocks
The rocks themselves, color and texture is really nice, so is the ground (sand?). Feel like I could reach out and pick one of the rocks up.
I agree with konfuzd as far as improvement. The background is like a mars sandstorm looming over them. Which in its way is kind of fun, but does distract a little.

Re: rocks
I think you did a fine job.

Before I consider a painting "done" I always check my values.

You can see where the surrounding values are competing. When experimenting I cover a touch dry painting with plastic cling wrap. Then paint potential changes right on the plastic so as not to ruin anything. Play with the values until your satisfied. Try deleting the little brown rock on the lower right or just same value different color.

Re: rocks
Good suggestions all round. The rocks look absolutely wonderful but the background is too similar and competes with the foreground. I'm actually not sure what the background represents, assuming it's sky with a hint of ocean. A touch more impressionism and a bit less of the abstract might help.

Nevertheless, great work.
