Shutterbug Pub Weekend, October 12th/13th, 2019

It occurred to me when I attend the rodeo a couple of weeks ago IN the Corn Palace that I have never shown you the inside. So here it is in all it's glory!

OH BOY!!! I love rodeos!!
Very cool shot of the palace interior, Rich!!!
So bright and colorful.
Did you get any rodeo action?

This is from last night...after sundown

Thanks Patty! Yes I did get some video of the rodeo. Click link.

Love the low light shot. The lone bright spot draws your eye to the lovely barn! Very picturesque scene.

Wow! That was some excellent footage, Rich!
That first bull rider almost got it.
Exciting!
Most of the rodeos Iíve been to in Florida were working skills competition
between local ranches. They will do bronco riding because itís similar to breaking in horses, but a working cowboy has no reason on earth to get on a bulls back!
Leave that to the pro riders!
Thanks for the link!

My photo...Thanks...seldom see a barn lit at night.
We had to pull off the road for that.

Thanks Patty, yes bull riding and bronc riding are dangerous sports!

Thanks for the shot of the interior of the Corn Palace, Rich; it's as impressive inside as outside. I'll look at the video later.

Really nice photo, Damar: nice composition and I love the light.

Hi to those who visit later.

I've been less than 100% the past several days - nothing serious, just a combination of an aching back and a touch of intestinal discomfort.

Here's another early morning pumpkin shot (the first I just posted in this month's "Best Of..." thread). I didn't use flash, instead trusting the excellent low-light performance of the camera and it didn't let me down...

Rich, that's quite a stadium you got in the Corn Palace!

Patty, your after sundown scene of a rural landscape is nicely composed.
The high dynamic range of the picture could use some PP to add colour to the sky and bring out more shadow detail.

Dave, a mouth watering bunch of bananas - $3.29 kilo here, too expensive for me, and I'm not fond of pumpkin! :D!

Not much from me over the weekend, I shot one picture only at a new location to my usual walks. I was in a reflective mood.

I sure enjoy your sense of humor.

But I can't resist saying: "Yes, we have no bananas."

Wow, look what I was missing!

I got to tell you, Rich, the rodeo video was pure entertainment, but those bull riders got to be nuts. If I were 40 years younger, I think I would be hanging around those cowboys. I'm old school and I like my men brave and tough and you don't get much tougher than that. Do you think they keep their cowboy hats on with super glue?

I thought the corn palace would look much bigger inside. Is there more than one arena inside? Thanks for sharing all of that with us, Rich, and for starting the daily.

Patty,
That is a nice country still life. I saw lots of those this weekend when my daughter and I went up north but it was too cold and windy to get out of the car to take photos. That first cold blast of fall weather really goes through you and seems to go right to the bones. We had a whole lot of rain on Friday also that made things really damp. Our trailer is not insulated and the little space heater we had was huffing and puffing all weekend trying to keep us warm. I am afraid it is time to get a new one.

Dave,
That's a great shot with some nice warm lighting. I can't wait to go look at the one in the darkroom. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi Ya, Mark.
You don't like a good pumpkin pie with whipped cream generously piled on top? Pumpkin is a vegetable, it is good for you. What is your favorite pie?

It is good to be back home and in a nice warm house.
Time to work on the new challenges.

Dave hope you are feeling better this evening.
Your pumpkin portrait has chunky texture and color.
I like it!

Hi Mark!
I always like reflections in water!
Edit of old barn: You did bring out enough sky and foreground to make a
landscape!
What caught my eye, was the lone barn light coming on after sundown.
Sun out, lamp on...nightfall....
or something like that!
I appreciate your suggestions though!

Mishap at the Peachtree City, GA airshow today.
Canadian Pilot ejected (he's ok)

Glad we didn't go there this morning. DH wanted to see if we could find a nearby vantage point to get a few photos. I said no...didn't want to drive that far with a 50% chance of rain today.
Remainder of the show was cancelled.

Hi Lorell!!!
We posted close together.
Glad you are back home safe and with
a heater if you need it!
We should be cooling off here too. Bit of rain today,
which usually comes ahead of cooler temps.
We put in quite a few miles this weekend too.
(in 4x4)
Got a few photos, nothing amazing, but fun anyway!

OMG, Patty, I am so glad that the pilot is okay and that no one else was hurt. There is nothing left to that plane.

Thanks Dave! Nice natural lighting on the pumpkins and good focus in low light!
Hope your feeling better by now!

Thanks Mark! Interesting abstract! I imagine you had a lot to reflect on during your walk. Hope all went well.

Thanks Lorell. I will get a shot of the view from the floor showing the seating. It was basically built as an entertainment venue. Where the rodeo is setup is a basketball floor. Although small, it has been compared to the Boston Garden for BB games. As far as the hats, they pull them down to the top of the ears to make them stick.Yes, you must be brave and tough to ride a bull!

Patty, WoW, that plane crash was horrible. Glad no one was hurt or killed. Good that it landed in an open field.

It will be interesting to learn the reason for him having to punch out.
(if they ever make it public)
I like to think the open field was good pilot judgment and execution.
