Joan's 2014 Sketches

I am starting a new thread with my 2014 sketches.

My friend and I started 2014 off right by going to a food court to sketch some people. These were done with my lamy pen with a great brown ink that bleeds.

This group was done locally after our snowstorm and frigid cold temperatures at the beginning of the month. The lake nearby froze and I sat in my car to sketch some skaters.

Here are two local scenes...a marina and some buildings in Riverhead.

Love the sketches and the fact that your willing to sketch from your car in the cold. Awesome.

Thanks Doug, Debby, J, Rob, and Kat!!! I appreciate your comments!:)

The group I am blogging with moved on to sketching San Francisco from Google Maps. Here are my sketches.

My tour begins with the sign at Fisherman's Wharf,
Nick's Lighthouse at the pier,
A streetlamp in Chinatown,
Clayton & Haight Streets ( I was there in the 60s too. lol),
and the San Francisco Art Institute.

I don't know why some of the images are small and some are big.

The smell of baking bread at Boudin Sourdough on Jefferson St. would definitely get my attention if I were actually there. lol
I have been to Lombard Street, "the crookedest street in the world."
The Trans America Pyramid is interesting as is the top of a building near it.
And then there is a stop at In-N-Out Burger.

I had to find a view of the Golden Gate. This one is from the Presidio.

If you are in the mood for a tour you can get tickets on Jefferson St.

The first time I was ever in San Francisco I went to Golden Gate Park to the Japanese Garden. I sketched part of it.

No trip to San Francisco is complete without a cable car ride.

And my last SF sketch is one of the "Painted Ladies" on Steiner Street.
