Beth hope you had fun at your party. Winding down for the holidays sounds nice. I am sure the kids are anxious by this point to be done for winter break.
Fusing and slumping glass is surely just one more way to have fun with glass. I will have to take a few pics of my DW's work and post them. The nice thing about fusing and slumping is that you can work cold and get everything just the way you want and then run it. If you have a kiln that can get up to around 1450 F you can do it. Even a small kiln will let you do small plates or jewelry. Right now she is making some small scallop plates that someone asked for. It is a good way to figure out the programs for the kiln she is using.
Have a good one.
Re: Wed 12/3
Carlos, my kiln will fuse and I've got several tools for cutting sheet glass. It's been a while since I've cut any, but I can cut and grind to get smooth edges. I have a little fusing glass and frit, but I don't know the coe. My ex-h bought it several years ago, but I don't know if it is 90 or 96.
We had a nice Christmas party at work yesterday. Monday was a birthday party for the boss and then yesterday the Christmas party. Today---no party! What a let down! It is getting quiet at work. People only show up for finals. I'm taking tomorrow off and working from home. As long as I check emails, I'm in good shape.
My kids have another 2 and a half weeks or so. They would like to get out when I do, but such is the life of a young teen. They can go be college students in a few years and get longer breaks!
have a good evening.
