Scavenger Hunt #591 - June 13 - 21

Welcome to Hunt 591!

If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366347

Here are the rules for the hunt:

* All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.
* Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list.
* You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.
* All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 ..till #26 (If you complete all items on list). Do them in whatever order you wish.
* Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, then the next hunt will start.
* Please tell us about your subjects and sketching/painting setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.

*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary. ***

Jo - good subs. Having pulled pork and beans over weekend was thinking of doing can but you reminded me how Much I hate trying to do text in perspective. You did it well especially on the beans.

Hi all
Have not runaway or abandoned friends..been piddling and puttering trying to finish that crucifix. Turns our cherubs that I gave little thought to are the hardest. Will try to do some hunt items but crucifix has me.

Keep sketching
Joe

Joe - Hello!

Here are my sketches. Sorry for the blurry photo. I'll aim to take clearer photos on Monday.

approx. 8x11", graphite and coloured pencil

1. Kilogram
2. Kilowatt - a twisty light bulb that is 23W so imagine this item drawn 44 times
3. key
4. khaki - a green cotton round that I crocheted. It's about the size of a coaster.
5. kaput - the end of something - the bottom end of a chapstick tube
6. keg - this is a round jug that is 50 litres
7. kilt - skirt

And here is a photo of several of the items (I have no idea why this photo is so small):

Cheers,

Joe and Ai, thanks and hi there.

Joe, these are just sketches, don't stress too much! Well, your crucifix is a drawing but on the other items just 15 minutes or so and relax. lol

EP, great finds for your items. I haven't crocheted in years, don't know why, it was fun. I'm pretty sure you figured out that 'sup pintos' was 'sub pintos'. You made me laugh. Last time we had kilt on the list a guy played the bag pipes for a parade, don't think that is happening this Hunt. There is a Juneteenth celebration today, but doubt he would be there, but who knows.

We have a day off from going to Austin, so I may just be lazy.

Happy Father's Day! to some of you and happy honor the men day otherwise. :-)
I took the day off yesterday, but decided to do a quick pastel for today. We are going to Austin to our daughter's for lunch with the Texas kiddos (almost geriatric now, youngest is 43 ... yikes!

Number 3, koala - substituting a stuffed bear that I haven't sketched for a while. On the used paper with assorted pastels about 9 x 12 inches

Jo - thank you. Your koala bear looks so happy with the large smile and the hearts in the paws :) I will have to substitute for a koala, too. I'm planning to sketch my honey bear :)
