I love the foreground.
Such a large area of sky could use a bit more drama to balance the whole painting and connect it together..

Thanks, tj84. What did you mean by drama? Sorry I didn't go to art school if that's a technical term. 😬

nice contrast, composition and atmospheric perspective, but is it really that blurry in real life? i would hope the foreground twigs and such are nice and crisp.

I didn't go to art school either, but been studying & learning since 2004..
Basically drama means something to give more interest.. colors, brush work, some sort of movement..any of those.. (you do have some movement /brushwork)
See how the clouds are divided horizontally lights vs darks.. and the foreground makes another horizontal zone..
Generally if sky is the larger area it should have some sort of interest /drama/impact... but as the artist - your choice of course..

One way to test- scroll down so part of the top dark sky is cropped off by your screen
does the painting look better or more balanced?

Hi, La. The blurriness is probably due to the downsizing of the photo.

Maybe you can post a link to a better quality image.
I think you did a fantastic job with the sky.
I think it gives kind of a cold lifeless feel. The trees seem really dark and contrast'y and draw a lot of my attention. Do you mind if they are so much of the focus?
