Today is the aniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar.
This is my only painting relating to the event. HMS NEPTUNE picking up the tow from the battle damaged HMS VICTORY.

Re: Trafalgar
When I teach leadership, I talk about the Nelson touch. It was not a tactic, it was the relationship he formed with his commanders that led to complete trust and a bias for action.

Great painting, Jim.

Re: Trafalgar
Thanks Thomas. I sometimes wonder about Nelson and the RN. Tradition is a fine thing, but sometimes I think the ĎNelson Touch' was over played through the ages, giving a false impression of invincibility. I think it was partly responsible for the shock and disbelief of Jutland . I get the impression that moral in the Present Day RN is not all it could be. Nothing wrong with the Service. The government have certainly gone several 'cuts too far' with all our services. When you build ships, it is a good idea to have the people to Crew them ALL.
However letís not get into politics, Iím not in the mood for comedy!.
