Have you ever looked at a painting that was so rich in texture, you almost wanted to touch it? I believe that some paintings are not only meant to be seen but to be felt as well. Perhaps you have some tips for creating texture that you could share?
My "trick" was purely accidental. I achieved this texture by painting something altogether different at first. I had folliage, petals, etc. underneath and then decided on a road. I brushed on the crimson and overlaped some warm white by gently rubbing and smudging the colours together with my fingers.

Nice....alot of textures come out of working layer over layer. Alot of textures come from changes in the painting. I like clear mediums to let you look thru the textures.
