Hi all,
An experiment:
This is another scractchboard that I started last night, but with a different approach. it is 9x12,but I started with a white clayboard. I then drew the picture on it and started painting the ink on with different degrees of darkness. It was really messy and sloppy looking right from the beginning, so I thought that I would try to stay a little looser than I usually do. This was definitely outside my usual comfort level,so I thought that I would go ahead and post this for thoughts and ideas.I need to step back from it,don't know how I feel about it so far.
Thanks in advance:)

Hi Heather,

I LOVE it!!!! I too have been thinking of trying something along those lines. Would speed the process up quite a bit. Your elephant does not look messy at all!!!

good job!!

Wow, that's "messy?" I think it looks beautiful! Don't think I could ever pull off something like that.

Thanks Connie and Wingnut.
I just tried to catch a detail to show you what I mean, but it comes out too blurry when I enlarge it.I will try again.

If this comes out clear enough to see, then you will see how scratchy and washy it looks. While I was in the middle of doing it I kind of felt like I was behind the wheel of a skidding car! I had less control than I was expecting.I kind of like the effect now that it is over,so I will probably try it again sometime. Now I know what to expect.

Bob, I think it did take a lot of time off of the total.I would definitely love to see what you can achieve from this technique.

Thanks,
Heather

That's wonderful, Heather!! It doesn't look at all 'messy' to me, even in the closeup.

I have some of that board, but have been chicken to try it. I know I should get out of my comfort zone, too.

Way to go for trying it and achieving a wonderful result!
