Really gorgeous paint horse, Dana. I love the way you did his eyes and great profile. Love that lower lip, too. He's so expressive!

This is beautiful! Is this done in CP's, Pastels? You should do more horses because you do them quite well!

Oh, I forgot to come back here. I came by once before, but it was late (wee hours of the morning) & I was getting too tired to type the word 'beautiful'. So let me tell you now, this is a beautiful painting of a paint.
With all these wonderful paint (pinto) horses being posted, makes me think I need to do mine. It's on my "I'll do that one day" list.

LOL SheShe..we all know we dont get around to painting our own animals!!
Artcrazy..I get the Mi Tienes canson paper in sand and get it dry mounted on matboard or foamboard before I start painting.Otherwise it buckles a bit! I mostly use a dry brush technique..not very wet!
Thanks all..you all paint such nice horse paintings!!
Dana
Ps..I posted one of a horse and jockey in the horses in motion project too

You should see my 24 year old gelding puff himself up and dance for the ladies. It's like watching a grizzled old man try to flirt with 20-somethings. LOL
