View Full Version : Wings - final version

The original was conceived in late 2008, as a preliminary acrylic sketch (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=536032). This is the final version, finished yesterday.
4ft x 3ft, acrylic on canvas.
Link to a slightly larger (http://www.deviantart.com/download/279686371/wings_by_roy_p-d4mindv.jpg) version.

This is fantastic. So very original and beautifully executed...looking back at the bird, pointing to it...it is a pleasure to behold! Congrats and thank YOU.

I like the stylistic application and the color is beautiful. That lady needs to get somewhere warm. Spoken from someone who lives not far from Lake Superior where it is very cold right now. :)

Very well done my friend!! :)
Roy: Wow this is a big one and so strong and vibrant. Really like this. I especially like your style on those waves. Super.

Does it represent letting someone/something go? It has sort of a somber mood at the bottom breaking into the sun at the top. Great job.

Sorry everyone - trying to post Prosenjit's comments for you but I'm being forbidden myself at times.

Sorry again - as soon as I copy his message here I get a 'Forbidden' notice :(

I do like those sculpted waves! Very 3-dimensional :)
Keeping this brief in case I'm forbidden again  - but it's a super painting :D

Hi again Doug - it seems I can make some posts, and even in Prosenjit's thread, but it will not allow me to post a copied message from him into my post - still Forbidden!
Just testing out Maureen's problem.

Its strange I couldn't post my longer comment thanking you individually, but I could post this short, collective thank you note. Maureen(who tried valiantly on my behalf), and probably Doug too, couldn't post it as well?!?! Anyway, I'm so indebted to all of you for your erudite, thoughtful observations.
Also, thank you Doug for trying to resolve this, and thank you so much Maureen :)
