Looks like I got in first here on Friday 13th. That's what comes of being ahead in the time zone  That's unless all the other posts have gone missing.
Thanks for hosting and the nice images Lin. Can't resist a rose. This is another watercolour attempt. Brush sketched the image first with Raw Sienna. About 1 hour total. 12 x 17 cm
I hope I can get to do another some time this week.

You are indeed first - congrats!
I post them 'early' as I think of you all ahead that may otherwise not get the images until Saturday afternoon, half way through the weekend.
So I'm glad you will have a chance to have a good go.
I love this rose. The white highlights on the tips of the petals works so well. You have really brought out it's beauty

A rose is a rose! Yours is excellent, especially the blend or reds and oranges. Kurlie 8-)

Sorry if I'm out of place starting a new thread but I didn't know if I would have time to do a second painting - and I don't know how to change the title for the first post.
This is a 12 x 16 cm watercolour brush sketched first with raw sienna on Fabriano Studio 300g. Don't think I like this paper any better than the cheap stuff - very absorbent, like blotting paper - so still trying different papers.
about 2 hours
This one from last week - about 17 x 16 cm - on Frederix watercolour canvas - very different to paint on - not absorbent. I scrubbed it off once (still don't like it) - this surface will take much more experimenting from me before I can say I like to paint on it.
about 1 hour before scrubbing off  - 1 day to dry then about another 90 mins on this one

All lovely! The umbrella and chairs look so inviting, the tulips soft and pretty, and the rose just plain gorgeous.
And when you want to change the title of your thread, just hit the "report post" little triangle with the exclamation mark in it, and request a moderator to change it for you. :)

Great job, particularly with both rose and tulips! I would be quite happy with the tulips, personally...:) .

Beautiful rose, subtly painted. The shadow leaves in the background give just the right degree of complexity.
