View Full Version : Show of my work

Recently joined and thought you might like to view some of my work that I have done and what is my style.

I prefer to do acrylics with plently of detail. These pictures are small in size with the biggest being 40x40cm. The works are from photos in magazines, so I couldn't sell them, with great joy from my hubby (he's a bike nut). I am currently working on a painting for an exhibition from various pictures.

I hope you like them ... awaiting any comments .....

Your work is very good Karen!

Why not join us for our Different Strokes challenge every month, here in the forum? Then you could paint in your own style and sell them - we use copyright-free images ;)

I really like the motorbike one you first posted. I thought the colours were crisp and pure. Also great drawing skills. I like these too but I think your gift lies in painting the bikes. These show your love for the sport. I am not taking anything away from your landscape. It is lovely, but your bikes are special.

You definitely need to check out WC's reference library.

Also, if you are on other sites...FB, etc...and your friends post awesome pics (that THEY took) ask if you can use them. I have an online friend that is an absolutely incredible photographer....he has given me permission to use any of his photos as reference & just asks that I give him credit!!! I don't abuse that privilege & use too many of them though. With your ability, a photographer should feel honored to have you use their images.......just ask (and be sure to give them credit).

I immediately scrolled down to look for the paintings since I thought that the first two pictures were the photos for comparison, lol
I agree that the bikes sharpness, attention to detail and overall look is very professional. It must have taken a lot of long hard hours to accomplish.
The landscape however is more relaxed. It doesn't demand anything of the viewer but offers a sense of serenity. It is another energy altogether, in my humble opinion. :cat:

Thanks Jocko & Yvie for looking and commenting.
It's the drawing that takes the time, maybe 20 hours or so, because it has to be exactly right, but once I start painting and "colouring in between the lines" (as I call it ), I get it finished quite quickly.
