A local art supply shop has started keeping Lucas pastels. I've never heard of them - but of course couldn't resist trying a few!
I mean I have to have EVERY brand don't I! :D
Does anyone know about these?

Hi Minky

I have heard of Lukas Pastels....But I do not know anything about them, I've done a search and the Lukas web page does not give you any information on their Pastels. The Compamy has been around for many many years. Sorry I could not help you a lot......But there is a little info on the Neef Aussie link below.

If they are Russian pastels (I believe the Lukas watercolours are Russian?), then I have tried them, and they are dry and hard. do test before you buy.

Thanks Gaka

Jackie - they are German. The three I bought are really soft and buttery - feel a bit like Schminkes, but thin like Selleniers so they may break easily once the labels are off.
