View Full Version : Reconstituting Acrylic paint

Back in November I had posted a thread about having some 8 oz jars of Liquitex Super Heavy Body acrylic paint that had "gone bad". The paint in most of the jars were as thick as bubble gum. Thanks to Einion, Andrew and Idylbrush, I was pointed in the right direction to save this paint. Their direction was to use distilled water with a small amount of ammonia in it.
While this did help some, I found that using an old blender with the paint and water mixture did wonders. I just finished with the last jar and they are all as close to original texture and viscosity that I could hope for. Hope this is helpful for anyone else who may have Acrylic paint that is going "bad".
