Just couldn't make myself do the pond for this one. Changed colors too. First attempt with the script brush. It was fun!

Thanks everyone! I certainly intend to "keep it up". My first love is pen and ink, then oils. Want to try watercolor as well. Maybe pastels, colored pencils. Not enough hours in the day to do what I'd like. Its all fun and good for the soul!

Excellent work on the tree and grasses..
the darks and lights in the tree give it a good 3D look. well done!
the grasses are done well, the lightest is in the distance and is darker as it comes to the foreground.. which is the right way to show distance.
Keep up the great work!!

Cem, you sound a lot like me. I'm new to all this, too and can't make up my mind what medium I like best. I LOVE your tree. The texture and lighting is fabulous. If you do it again, I'd put a little more color variation in the background (but not a lot!) Thanks for sharing.

Thank you all for your comments. This is the first painting I have finished in a long time, and then I wasn't sure if I should add something else. Well I guess maybe we all feel that way about some of our work. I enjoy seeing everyone's artwork here and have actually learned some things the short time I've been a member.
