I was recommended to this site by a friend, Mark Sheeky, who thinks it'll stop me plaguing him with so many questions on colour theory / paint-mixing :) . I've been learning to paint over the past few months, mostly self-taught because I don't understand most of what I read in books on painting! I'm trying to use acrylic, though Mark keeps telling me how superior oils are!

I'm mostly interested in painting furry animals, though today it has just been:
Finishing a monochrome painting of a ping pong ball (third attempt), and
Experimenting with shades of grey to see how their appearance varies with angle of viewing and wet vs. dry. (Fifth experiment? I've lost count.)

My drawing skills are slight, so I'm 'cheating' by using graphite paper to copy photos/print-outs to acrylic paper/board, then painting over that.

I think that's enough waffle for my first message!

Oh, I just remembered that I was going to ask:
Is there a way of changing the way dates are displayed here? My tiny brain struggles to interpret the American month-day-year format.
