Happy new year! May all have a better year !

This painting is a commission made with oils on canvas.

Size 11x14 inches.
I sent it on Dec. 30 ....last year :D

The rose, hot pepper, hummingbird and bees were special requests from the commissioner. The initial sketch that I showed him was without those elements. They were added gradually in the setup.

Then the second sketch after he requested a hot pepper

Now he came with the idea of a rose, a hummingbird and some bees. This is the result:

Hi Daniel...Don't envy your add on set menu!! Phew! But you did an excellent job of the commission by limiting the palette therefore toning down what could have been a very busy workspace indeed!! 11 or 12 objects versus the usual 3 or 5 eh? Still, it's a showcase of your painting skills!!:D I particularly like those luscious grapes, the cloth and the insects! :thumbsup:

Deirdre, yes it was pretty hard to deal with all those elements. The hardest job was to avoid to fatigue the onlooker's eye.
I think I managed to do that capturing the eye on the wine's label with that blue.
