I was thinking today on entering my scratchboard art into fairs, art shows, etc. And I was wondering what do you call it?
Is it a drawing if you only scratch?
Is it a painting if you add acrylics? and if so, is it considered a mixed medium?
OR if you use acrylic inks is it only ink, and not 'mixed mediium'?
I'm sure I could go on and on......
I was able to get mine (yeah, already planning on more, lolol) into an art festival in January that I was already juried in for acrylic paintings by telling the head honcho it was scratchboard with acrylics (so now I have to be sure the ones I display have acrylics somewhere). I sent her the pic of the first one of the fuzzy yearling and she was excited. I know it is not perfect, but whose first one ever is, lolol.
Thanks for any insight on what to call the darn things as there is not really a category for 'scratch art'......yet
