Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get "pushed down" by a swarm of project-related threads.
I cannot believe that I am the first to say that I will join the project!
I love that the theme gives so much scope Jeanne.

I am in ,I love the theme too. I know this is the fun and recall a lot of memories.

I'm glad you two are in. I didn't even know it had been approved. I had to contact a moderator to push it thru. I did want it to cover a lot of things as it makes it easier for some. Being very specific on a theme eliminates those who don't do that particular thing.
Any way here we go again. More fun.
What an awesome theme! Count me in. :)
I saw that and had a good dozen ideas pop in my head. Great stuff.

yeah the project forum is working!!! this is so much better than trying to struggle with WC and FB too.
I love the subject, and have shelves if old knick-knacks that used to belong to my dad, that is WAITING to become little paintings,
off to sign up now
We have a new participant signed up. I see she is a digital artist and she does some really nice stuff. I'm not sure she meant to sign up so sent her a message telling her the rules I neglected to state in the opening and told her we would welcome her if she can participate but also told her how to opt out if she misunderstood. I know we don't usually have any digital artists lately but looking forward to having one of hers if she can participate.
Justjean used to participate as a digital artist and I got some really nice cards from her.
That would be cool. I tell you I play once in a while with my computer but it amazes me how some of the digital artists can do what they do.
I have a tonne of photos of past vacations and such I've been meaning to paint. I've been having a ball going through them for this project. This is exactly what I needed.
Yako opted out of the project and said she would do one in the future.
That's understandable it's easy to mix up doing like a monthly project thing where you post online and a trading project. I think I had four people do that on the one I did.
I've started already, I should be finishing my Christmas stuff but I love to procrastinate. :D

Count me in, too! I'm planning to base my art on this picture (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/../RefLib/showphoto.php?photo=86496) from the Reference Library of a country road that reminds me of one that I visited in Missouri. I'm not too clear on procedures for ATC, having not done it before, so maybe someone can advise. I'm also planning on "going digital" for this project! I should be able to get the file converted into a photo at a drugstore, so also please let me know if any standard photo size qualifies for ATC.
Anyway, having fun.

Too tempting to resist!
ATC size is 2.5 x 3.5. It is usually only for original artwork and one original piece is painted for each person on the list. I left this one open to digital as we used to have some digital and now they seem to be left out most times.
To fit in to the original part, you might create different pieces for each person. It's up to you. You will be receiving original pieces that each person makes just for you. The digitals we had before, the person did a different one for each person and just printed it off on their computer.
I hope this helps. I am sorry to everyone that I didn't make the instructions complete.
Also we do not post progress images. The paintings are kept secret. Once you mail your art to a person, you pm them and let them know it is in the mail. When received, they will pm you to let you know. At that time, you will post the photo of your painting in the final images area so that everyone can see and make comments.
I hope this helps. If you have any other question, please ask here or pm me. I want to make this trade as easy as I can. And I want everyone to have fun.
Thanks, Jeanne

To "J" - Thanks for the information, it helps a lot! I guess the cat's out of the bag re. one of the pieces I'm doing! Now I know to not post images of artwork-in-progress, or, heaven forbid, finished artwork!!
By the way, I am a computer programmer, and one of my "hobby projects" (the one that I am putting the most of my outside time into, with the exception of making art) is a general-purpose graphics program. It's a pretty big thing for one person to do (even for me, although I'm a pretty good programmer, if I don't say so myself!) (LOL, rolling eyes), and it would be nice to be able to say that I made the ATCs using my own custom program. But I don't know if I will get it finished in time. (Chances are, I won't.) But if I do, you all will be the first to know! I plan to release the completed application as freeware, meaning that anybody will be able to download and use it for free and without restriction. As I get more involved in selecting and implementing features, I'll have to post something in the digital arts area so that the folks over there can give me their input as to what features they think are must-have features to include. Sorry for this overly-wordy post. Now maybe I should try my hand at writing ... :wink2:
Again, thanks for the help. I'll PM you later if I have further questions, as I'm sure I will.
Thanks for hosting this project.

I'm absolutely pouting that I can't join in. I've forbidden myself from joining any projects until I finish grad school. Have fun everyone - I'll try to peek in from time to time.
WooHoo!! There are 12 of us already
I have been looking at images that match things that I remember with fondness in my life. Will start sketching soon.:crossfingers: :D

To "J" - I think I may have over-committed myself by taking on this project. Originally I thought that I would have to do one work of art, which for me is doable, but now that I see that I have to do ten (or however many as there are people who sign up), I'm having second thoughts, and third thoughts, and fourth thoughts, and so on. These thoughts are squeezing out my other thoughts so that I am now left staggering around in circles with a dazed look on my face. So, if you have any humanity in yourself , I wonder if I could be excused from this project at this time? (Leaving open the possibility that I might join such a project in the future - it still sounds fun!)
AJ, That's a shame but understandable. If you go to the art projects page and click on "my projects" in the sidebar box, it'll show you what projects you are signed up for and gives you the option of leaving the project.
AJ sorry to see you go but look forward to seeing you in future projects.
I hope that before the 30 days are up, I can go in and change the project to however many we have signed. Don't want to take a chance on really late comers a month down the line. It looks like we won't get a full project.
I have been on a roll with my cards. I have 9 completed. Will be the first time in a long time that I have them all finished and ready to mail when I have the mailing list.
And as usual they are bringing back some really nice memories. I am always so pensive during this time of year and this project seems to be stirring up my past.
I hope you all are having just as much fun. Looking forward to seeing what all of you come up with.

I signed up a couple of weeks ago, sry. I have not posted in here finishing up a couple of projects, and just had a medical procedure a week and a half ago, so I was "loopy" for awhile.. I'm back and ready to begin, Hope you all had a great Christmas!
Since today would be 30 days for signup, I have changed the number of participants to what we have so that no one can join now. It shows the project is full. That way we won't get late comers after we have been going too long.
I have been ill with a bad cold and in bed for a couple days. I will try to compile all the addresses and see who I don't have. If you want, you can all just pm me your addresses so I have them fresh off the press. lol. Will try to get the address list out this weekend.
We officially start after the first. Good luck finding your past memories. I look forward to taking the journey with each of you.
Jeanne
Thanks Jeanne! I pm'ed you my address.
Tammy, I hope you're feeling well now!
Happy New Year everyone!
Thanks Virginia. Got it and can now copy and paste when making my list.
I went out today to get some supplies at Walmart. Totally wore me out. I guess my stamina is down. I bought a heating pad to keep on the back of my chair to keep me warm. A couple nights ago I had problems with chills. I get them easy and once I have them, have a hard time getting rid of them. I know I shook for at last 30 minutes. Now trying to keep them away.
Picked up some meds and orange juice. Oh yeah and some kleenex. The meds are supposed to stop the runny nose but not counting on it. Toilet paper is just too rough.
I must be feeling better as I am itching to do some drawing in graphite. Hopefully soon. I just finished another card for this trade and have one more to do. I did get enough supplies I shouldn't have to go out again for awhile. Going to stay in and warm and try to kick this cold. I don't like it.

hello all, I am so sorry to hear of illness everywhere, but I am a victim as well. Talk about streaming noses, had to hold a tissue under it continually... felt like ____! Today I am fine, just like that! One Contac and I am a new person. We are travelling home on the 2nd, crossing the channel and driving down through France. It is the long way but the ferries to Santander were all booked up with the pet friendly cabins. It will take us three days to travel down, so much more difficult than crossing the Bay of Biscay way. Oh well we won't have the sea to contend with.
Wow that's a long drive!
Hope everyone is feeling better. We're having oddly warm weather here. So much so I actually saw flying insects out! And I still have some snapdragons trying to grow. It's weird.
I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Years!
ALways odd herfe in the South because our Seasons are opposite. Its been cool for Christmas/New Year only getting to about 85 deg F instead of the usual 104 in the shade.
Have all my cards planned and some rough sketches and ideas scribbled down- will get stuck into them now.
I hope you are all taking your zinc and vitamin C to help your immune systems and get well soon :crossfingers: . Stay well rugged up and won't be too long before Spring starts to warm you all up. I had the most evil flu last Winter here that knocked me off my perch for months. Was off work for 3 weeks and didn't feel back to "normal" for several months. Hope the antibodies are fuelled up for this Winter.
Looking forward to seeing what we all remember - this is where we all trip down memory lane in our posts and for some of us realise how old we really are when we remember things that others think are so ancient........reminded of this the other day when I was saying that when I first started school we used slates to practice our letters on - wasn't worth wasting good paper on first year's scribbly writing. We even had writing lines permanently marked on them so you could get the letters the right size. Well the look I got you would have thought I lived in the Jurassic period!!!
Lol Sue!! My nephew came over to a bunch sitting on my Mom's porch (he was born and raised in a city), well he had a clothespin and he asked us "What is this for?". We laughed so hard.
I'm sitting here with a nice big wooly coat on and a blanket too. Because my furnace celebrated the new year too hard and decided to die. I can hear the repairman and my husband laughing downstairs so hopefully it's a quick fix!
It's too cold in here to paint today, we had such lovely weather but tonight will be with the wind chill at -4F so it's a bit chilly!

Oh gosh, I had my turn at the flu a couple of weeks ago but I'm all recovered now. Sorry for those of you still recovering.
I have lots of irons in the fire at the moment but I am still looking forward to starting these cards. I have more ideas than what I need to paint so I will have to whittle my list of ideas down a bit.

hope everyone is well for the New Year and safely home again for those traveling.
we started the New Year with a traditionaly cold day (-20) which is a good 10degrees warmer than usual, and to date the coldest this winter so far! but today it is +2 at 5am, what is up with that! I am not complaining, cannot remember such a mild winter for years!
anyway, I see the project is full, and I think Jeanne you have my address, ready to rumble! and I just joined two other projects, and have a workshop in a couple weekends!, want to get my studio all cleaned up to get ready for the new year!

Holy cow Bonnie... we have had the mildest winter since I have been in Edmonton... I work in a t-shirt most days (and I am not working in a building), and just need my fleece jacket to get to and from work. Our New Years Day was the coldest in a month at -10!
I'll stay away from Regina!
We were up to 57F the other day. Broke records, I couldn't believe I saw two pelicans when I drove over the Mississippi today, they should be long gone by now. The eagles who nest here in the winter are slowly trickling back.
I have lost my favorite brush, it's driving me crazy.
I restarted a couple that I was doing. I was having one of those weeks where I forgot how to paint again. But I'm all inspired again so off I go!
During maintenance we lost posts as well as people signed up. As far as I can tell, we need for Kurlie, Marmsk, and Recycled to sign up again. We also gained one so I changed the participants allowed to include everyone. What a fun thing maintenance is. Do we dare hope that it fixed what was already wrong in this forum with posting our final images? lol

hi all back and sign in just these few days i seem to get a little better with the back being out and not being able to move standing. I am in a wheel chair and for most of the holidays i could not even stand that.
I have about 6 cards done and thinking of each of you -I have known from the previous project. i am trying out new ideas and thinking of new OLD subject items I want to do.
working on several techniques this is so fun some times i forget to hurt. see this is therapy. what i love about the cards is the always surprise me in the end often they turn out much better than i expect. I just let my creative juices flow.
often something that seem so easy becomes more intense trying to make it mine what i mean is the image to be what I want to convey and to make it something i drew or added to the advertisement so that it is my personal take on the subject Who ever is chosen for the first card i did out of the sears catalog will see what i am trying to say:confused::eek: :crossfingers:
Carol, I hear you with the back pain. I have issues from years of nursing - at least I am still upright even if for short periods. I hate that you look like a mormal person and people so often don't understand how debilitating the pain can be. 5 mins standing/walking is about my limit [and I used to walk miles on the ward!].
I do agree though that art takes you to another place and it isn't until you have finished what you are doing that you realise you actually should have taken some pain relief earlier because getting up could be probelematic  - have to laugh - the alternative isn't pretty!
Hope that the pain improves and we all distract you so much you don't think about it for hours on end!

My Postie wondered about all my International mail and so I shared with her some of the cards I got and showed her some of mine before I mailed them.
It always amazes me that even if I think its not quite right because it hasn't come out as I saw it in my mind's eye that other people still think its good [if only they saw what was in my head !!]

glad to see we have everyone back, I missed the hullaballoo on the wknd, was at my sisters for a late christmas, and yesterday I did art all day, I have 8 cards done so far, my usual watercolor, and all treasures from my past (parent trinkets I have saved) had to downsize alot when I cleaned out my dads place when he went into care, then also my moms when she went into care. have been having fun, when DH says 'what is that for?" , his parents were not into keeping anything old, so no antiques in his family, my dad, however was all about saving everything from the past cause nothing modern ws good enough.
sorry to hear so many have been in pain or sick, have to say that since I had acupuncture for numbness inmy legs, over a year agom, that my back pain has diminished, it is time for another massage therapy treatment for headaches tho.

so are there 17 of us now?
Yes you can talk about the cards, just no showing.
Bonnie there are 15 and I was just waiting for Marmsk to get back in before closing it up. I just changed the number of participants to match the signed ones so we are ready to go. What wonderful therapy art is to all of us for one reason or another. I was thinking about the theme and thought it would be nice if we explain what the reason for picking the object or place we represent in our card, what it means to us. Could make it even more interesting. I am starting mine today as I am back in the grove after our visit to the UK.

Recycled, you need to get a motor scooter like my 97 year old mother in law has. She leaves us for dust in that thing; you would be up at the post office in 3 mins!!
Recycled, we had that lovely snow too! We had the wind blowing so hard, it blows everything into my driveway, it took me two hours (mind you I go slow) of shoveling to clear it. I'm thinking a nice line of hedges down the side of the driveway to block the snow would be a good idea. This has been an odd winter.
I was trimming my cards last night and accidentally cut one in half! I was so mad! I still have a few to go, I'm taking my time.
All my cards for this trade were mailed out today except the 2 without addresses. Four people are in this project and the Doors project. Your cards for both projects were mailed together.

tonight / last got a visit from grand children, 2 are staying over they are grown well mostly
this broke up the secession for the search and capture for door- drawings of doors most i will be using will be from the library but I plan on doing a couple from my home town Springfield is the capitol and Lincoln tourism has brought many interesting buildings with eye catching doorways to add to the old historic areas I live right down town only a half block from the Lincoln Presidential Library
I have done doors in a exchange before but it was a photo group and I do not know where i put what I had gathered in photos for it drawing tiny details is fairly new to me
I favor the Illinois building brass door about two stories tall but it may be beyond my skill level for such a small size as the ATC size I am planning on doing unless requested otherwise:thumbsup: back to looking and measuring thank goodness i have lots of blanks cause even with the cutter I had I could often not cut a straight edged card and re trimming them is like cutting the legs off of a chair with a chain saw never balanced again

"Grandma's African Violets" for Colorfur Critters. My Grandmother had a green thumb. She raised African Violets from cuttings and from seed. She even had them growing in flower beds outside. They were always so beautiful and full of blooms. So African Violets always remind me of my grandma.

"Coffee & Biscuits" for vmrs. The rolling pin was made by my husband in school shop class, the biscuit cutter was his Grandmas, and the coffee measure was from the Goodwill. I remember my mother having a rolling pin, one of those coffee measures that came inside the can of coffee, and a biscuit cutter like this one.

"Sock Monkey" for Kurlie. My mom made us each a sock monkey for Christmas one year when we were young. We didn't have a lot of money so she made a lot of our presents. Apparently Kurlie has a lot of her own sock monkey memories so I'm glad I chose the right card for her.

Mom's baked goods. My mom used to bake a lot when we were kids. Back then most moms did. I remember coming home from school many times to the smell of baked yeast rolls, or cinnamon buns, or cookies. My husband's mom worked and he never experienced this memory. So after we were married, I made sure if I baked, I did it right before he was due home from work so he could smell them as he came in. The smells of baked goods gives me a feeling of "I'm home".

"Granite School" for Marmsk. This is an old 1-room school house that was used in a small mountain community. It is now sitting on the ranch property of a friend's employer. When I saw it a few years ago, it still looked pretty good. I saw it a couple of years ago and it was really looking sad. That was only about 5 yrs span in between. I'm glad I have photos.
Virginia has a mean streak. lol A coworker once put a fake snake by the drivers side door on the ground next to my nephew's (he was only about 19 yrs old) pickup at work. He worked nights at a water processing plant out in the country and by himself. He couldn't tell the snake wasn't real. And we have rattlesnakes here.
My husband learned the hard way not to do practical jokes. He rode a motorcycle to work. He and a co worker were always doing things to each other. My husband would get inside the other guy's car and turn everything on high. When he would get into his car, radio blasted, wiper blades started, etc. One night the coworker took the fuses out of my hubby's motorcycle and left them on the bike somewhere. Hubby didn't find them and had to call me to come get him. I think their game stopped that night.
Another nice thing...my friend used to make her husband a sandwich to take for lunch They had 5 daughters and each morning before the sandwich got packed, one of the daughters would always come by and take a bite out of the sandwich. They had decided that was a good way to "have" lunch with dad.
Just thought I'd share a couple more From the Past memories.

This is a church we (me and my sisters, in one of our "let's be perpetually lost" adventures) came across in Prince Edward Island in Canada (where the book series, Anne of Green Gables takes place). It was such a pretty church and everything is so green there. And we managed to get directions from a nice kid mowing it's lawn.
Lol! Jeanne. It's gets worse, he told his co workers about my sock monkey escapades and when he came back from lunch his desk and computer were covered in sock monkey stickers.
I love the sandwich story, what a wonderful idea.
The church was for Kurlie and in her lovely pm she asked me
Do you do anything to the paper before you start? Like gesso?
So I figured it's easier to answer to all, since I did something different this time. I do paint a layer before I use acrylics of whatever color, usually a mid tone, this time I used black to make the bright colors pop, (though it's hard to see in this photo, the colors are bright). The acrylic tends to fade dull so I experimented this time with a non-yellowing varnish for acrylics, oils or watercolor (Kamar Varnish, it's called) to get the gloss back on. I wasn't sure how it would work on paper but it came out well I think. I dried them for days so hopefully none are sticking to their envelopes. I was also trying for a more painterly naive sort of painting. I just really like that style so I was glad to hear Kurlie liked it too.:)

Colorful Critters received this card in acrylic today (and thank goodness she told me's she has used Kamar for years with no problem so that's good, I was a bit worried),
This is a pie stand that is along the 401 Highway in Ontario, between Toronto and Kingston. We used to stop there on the way to visit my sister who was at university in Kingston. They had the best pie and there were tame wild rabbits that would beg for scraps, they were adorable.
Now it's all changed, the apple is still there but it's become all commercialized and they had to put a sign up telling people not to feed the rabbits because the Health Department made them. I like it much better in my childhood memory!
Thank you Mary, You're fast, we must have been posting at the same time. :cat:

"Dad's Cotton Crops" for Mariese. My dad worked on ranches where they raised crops like alfalfa, cotton, sugar beets, potatoes. On weekends he would get us all in the car and we would drive around the local farms and check out their crops so he could compare them to his. It sure wasn't much fun for children or probably my mom.

This is a Victorian house that is near my sister's house in St. John, New Brunswick. We all live fairly far from each other so one day being an army wife and being used to driving all over the country, I decided to drive from Illinois where I live near the Mississippi River and drive to New Brunswick to visit my one sister picking my other sister and nephew and two nieces in Ontario. I don't know if anyone has ever driven 4000 miles but with the right company it's fun fun fun!
We stayed at my sister Sherry's house and we kept driving by this house which was in an awkward spot, so Sherry drove while I leaned out of the window to get a photo of it. I thought it was so pretty, I've meaning to paint a picture of it for over a year so thanks to this trade I did.
We also drove all over New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island just for the heck of it.

This is the lucky Cow on a roof. My sister Yvonne and I were lost, we usually are but this time we were spectacularly lost. The Garmin kept trying to send us through Maine instead of on the TransCanada Highway. Yve had forgotten her passport so we needed to stay on the Canadian side and we had just refound the highway when Yvonne yelled "Exit, Cow on the roof!" So I did, and we had a good time taking pictures and trying to figure out what it was (I think it was old advertising sign but it wasn't on a store, it was on a barn/shed thing and no one and nothing else was around). It started to rain a bit and then the sky turned dark as night We waited it out in the car as we could see the cars on the highway were having trouble and lightning was flashing and up ahead was absolutely black. After about twenty minutes we went back on the highway. We drove about five miles but there was a massive pileup so we had to go around through this town where trees were down and leaves and debris was everywhere. We stopped at a store to see what had happened, and it ended that because we had stopped we missed being caught up in a very powerful microburst. So that became our lucky cow!
Carol, I just received your beautiful gramophone "Talking Machine". It's very cool. Thank you!

"IBM Selectric" for artastic. During my life, an IBM Selectric typewriter has has figured in prominently. My senior year of high school, we had a two-block course of office machines and shorthand. The first typewriter I was given was the IBM Selectric which was very new. It is the kind that has all the numbers and letters on a little ball. Then when I worked for a bank in the 70s, this was the typewriter I was given to use. Then in the 90s I worked at a temp agency as a full-time employee and once again here is the IBM Selectric for me to use. This time it was almost obsolete and hard to find repair people for them. I really liked these machines and they were a work horse power machine. Sometimes I wish I still had one.

I love this. My mom is a wicked typist. she was saying the other day that it used to be such a skill to be proud of and now whenever she goes to the library there's little bitty kids typing away like nothing. My Grandfather was a typewriter repair man in the 1920's! That was the happening career back then.
anything I add to that might make you think less of me" Unless i call out where the beef?" You made me spit my tea out.

This is excellent. I love the colors! I think some fo my favorite doodads have come from either garage sales, the Goodwill or the SallyAnne (that's Canadian for the Salvation Army.)
Sue the one you called a flower is not really a flower. It is what cotton (the cotton they use to make cotton cloth) looks like when the cotton boll opens up. When they pick it, they go along and take the white fluffy cotton out of the boll. It starts as a round boll, then opens up like the lower picture, then fully opens like the top one.
Bakersfield is an agriculture area so I've seen it up close and personal. Even tried picking it as a kid. I'm just not meant for manual labor. I did more field work/yard work sitting on the seat of my pants.
oops! Looked like a flower shape just couln't figure what kind......didn't even think of a nasty, bitey sharp cotton boll.

"Grandpa's Fiddle" for Bigs. My grandpa always had a fiddle and was always "playing" it. He didn't really sound good but I guess he didn't know that. I would give a lot to hear that awful sound right now since I still really miss him. He passed about 1974.

"Gold Watch" for tvandeb. This watch was my husband's grandfather's. It is open and you can see all the works. I can still wind it and get it to work for a little while. So fun seeing all the gears going around. I don't know the circumstances of him having it. I do know that they used to give retirees a gold watch. But as far as I know, he was a farmer and then the post master at a tiny little place outside of the town where I live. The place he and his wife lived is called Pumpkin Center. I never met him but his wife was called Granny Mom and was as much my grandma as my husbands.
Carol I got my cards today. All so unique and detailed. Thank you.

This is Tvandeb's acrylic. it's of the Point Abino (pronounced AB-a-No) Lighthouse which is near the house I grew up in. The lighthouse guided ships around a jutting rock shelf. Many of the large lakers went past going from the buffalo area to the Welland Canal. (the Welland Canal bypasses the Niagara River, seeing as it's not a good idea to try and boat over the Falls.:D)
It wasn't automated until 1989 and then it was decommisioned in 1995 (ships now use satellites and to guide around dangerous areas). So as I grew up it was still in full use with a proper lighthouse keeper. I fell asleep most nights watching it's light flash across the sky and on stormy or foggy nights listening to the deep foghorn echo across the bay.
It's been declared a National Landmark and now after many years of neglect, it's being renovated back to it's former glory with a 1.8 million dollar facelift. It's a very unique style and it's the only one like it in the world.
It's also the reason I love lighthouses!

At 17 my mother won a national contest MCCalls and taylon zippers for construction a mid length coat jacket ensomble. the prize was a length of brocaded satin material which she created the prom dress for her sister  she owned and sew on a straight stich singer / an Ellena/ A slant needle singer/ a Pfaff /then added a serger ,and finally a NewHome fully computerized Janome. she sewed every day and through sleepless nights she created the most wonderful items too bad she did Know about Etsy. Created in memories of parent’s years in Kansas where my cave man father danced with mom she made beautiful matching costumes my favorite was of handkerchief and gingham with full crinolines. She completed this ensemble with a cow boy style shirt for dad with snaps of mother of pearl and a bolo tie and a ten gallon hat. I find it funny how many husbands and wives don’t seem to be matched personalities mother was socialite. While dad would have been glad to be a hermit and was unconformable in a crowd. But for this brief span of time they really enjoyed the dance.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/26-Jan-2012/975392-img155.jpg

I'll bet you do journaling too?
I love my gramophone. The ad is great one part says.
"THE MONEY MAKER OF THE AGE! ~ Will pay for itself in one week...."
It's funny because you still that hook being used..especially with some of the super expensive appliances.
And then it says "THE PRICE OF THIS MACHINE IS LOW!" and then in small letters "considering it's unique characteristics.." :D The price was $50! At that time that was astronomical but then compared to what people pay for fancy phones and such, it's about the same.
Bonnie that looks awesome all together.

I thought it was near St. Andrews, but my one sister thinks it's near Rockwell and the other sister says it's closer to Alma. It was lovely wherever it was!

This is a church for Jeanne. It's acrylic and is in Great Bend, NY (between the Adirondacks and the 1000 Islands). It was close to the entrance to the army base we were at (Fort Drum) and I used to drive by it all the time. It's not in use but is nicely kept up. I liked the weird little windows and it was so small. I wanted to buy it so badly!

I tried something new with this acrylic for Marmsk. This is pointillism on a black background. It looks much more blended in real life I think.
This is a pathway that runs along between the Mississippi River and the slough. A slough is an inlet, this one is man-made, the undercurrent on the Mississippi can be very dangerous so we use this slough to put our boats in safely.
This is from the autumn. And it's actually the same place where I took the eagle photos that are in my blog. A rather new memory!

This is an acrylic of Schloss Seehof in Germany for Bridget (a schloss is a castle or manor). My husband was stationed near here and it was within walking distance of the base. It was beautiful place and now houses the Art and Culture ministry. It was once the summer house of the real Frankenstein family. You can walk all around the grounds which are gorgeous but they rarely mowed the front yard. It was such a contrast, this old beautiful mansion and an unkempt yard. I liked it though. It made it look mysterious.
Bridget or anyone on Facebook, if you look at my photo albums, the album, "The Maze" was taken in the backyard of this place.

Sewing Supplies for Rasmarie. I used to sew a lot and make all my own clothes. And I crocheted a lot. Sewing became a chore and I no longer enjoy it. I end up taking out more stitches than I put in. As for crocheting, I have arthritis in my hands that makes crocheting painful. Now I just do artwork.

I am loving your acrylics! The sory to go with this about growing up with the lighthouse light at night made me think of the airfield searchlights from my childhood. Airports and fields don't use them any more with all the automation and satellite/GPS etc., but they used to rotate around as a beacon at night - it was sort of comforting seeing it there every night.

This card is all mine! I have always loved Anne of Green Gables and now I have my own beautiful piece of Prince Edward Island.........I can almost hear Colleen Dewhurst as Marilla ............
Thank you Virginia.

Mary and Bonnie,
I really like your cards but as they are so large on the scan I thought I'd pass on my compliments without putting the images up again.
Thanks for the memories that your cards bring.

Tammy (tvandeb) has received my card of my souvenir from CA. When friends or co-workers take a trip, I ask if they can find a cheap item that is kinda tacky for my collection. This one winds up and walks sideways and I think it is rather cute.

:o :o :o I noticed that I hadn't sent a PM to recycled42 for my heavenly stove! A housewife getting this super duper stove would have been delighted! I love the old catalogues and ads, I have cooked on a smaller version of this stove and no thanks:eek: . Gimmie my gas! Kurlie:)
