Thanks so very much for your extravagant kindness :) - Maureen, Elaine, Gayle and Linda!

Regarding the palette, I'll just add that there is no green in it.

Maureen... a double visit, wow! You're kinder than you realize :)
Here's the largest close up I have a.t.m....

and here is a pictorial link to the w.i.p. you mentioned - the 800 px limit being too small to see anything with clarity.

So nice! Love the saucy expression on her face. Nice colors.

I feel that you can see the life of her personality in this paintingMarion, that is a wonderful thing to say! I think, in order to do a successful portraiture, likeness isn't enough. Although, if you're portraying a particular person, likeness must be there as a minimal requirement. But if you're referencing an image or model, and the work is actually an exploration of the human psyche as reflected on the countenance, you can take liberties with the expression and imbue qualities that come from somewhere within you. And suddenly, the portrait becomes less rigid and tends to represent what you have beautifully quoted - Thank You! :)

Keith, Lyn, Lauren, and Ms Nan - such an honor to hear from you, thank you so much!

I especially like the way the figure is not too hard-edged against the background. It looks soft yet defined.
