18x42 inch deep canvas. I painted this as a Christmas gift. I still need to paint the sides. The texture was done with a stucco paste mixed with gesso, applied before painting.

I hope you are all well. Even though I haven't had much time to paint or post, I enjoy checking in regularly. :)

Thanks, Clem. I sure hope she likes it.

The photo is a little crooked and cut off at the top left a smidgen. There's a little more space between the yellow pear's stem and the top of canvas.

Very impressive, inspirational even. Just goes to show you acrylics can look like anything you want to.....assuming you have the skill. :)

Thanks, Dan, David, and Bonnie. Oh, and the canvas isn't 18x42 deep, haha.

I would like to try that stucco effect. What a lovely lineup of pears. The perfect composition and so well rendered.

Thanks, cerenurt, Marie, Maureen, and Derek. The stucco was fun, but also frustrating getting used to such a porous surface. I used a knife to apply the gesso-stucco, that was one of the funnest parts of the painting. Lol.

I almost didn't look at this one because, to be honest, paintings of fruit generally bore me, but as soon as I saw it I thought to myself, "Hey, I like this." It feels playful with the color variations and there's a real feeling of life here. The composition is great and keeps my eyes moving, so not boring. Yes, I do like it. :)

Ha, ha. Karen, I don't know that I'd be apt to open every post marked "Pears" either. Thanks for the comments. :)

Thank you, Amanda. :)

Thanks, Lauren. It's all ready to be wrapped. Jfyi, this was the brain child of the recipient, who doesn't know she's receiving it. She was very specific about what she wanted in a painting: pears, texture, size, colors. When I drew her name in our family Christmas drawing I knew I had to paint this.
