I don't beleive I've posted in the acrylics forum before, but I haven't done much with acrylics, just a few failed landscapes. I'm a big car nut so I thought I'd give acrylics a try on an automotive subject. This was just a small quickie, 5x7 and a little over an hour. I obviously need much more practice but it's a start!

Welcome! Hope acrylics 'grab' you so you do more!!
Nice free brushwork - looks almost like knife work!

Thanks Kathie, Maureen.
I've been using oils and pastels for plein air but my "studio" is a small room, so I'm trying acrylics to avoid inhaling solvent fumes. I've tried several brands and so far Chroma Interactives are my favorite and what luck, their the cheapest too! I have to mail order them however, no store carries them locally. :(

Ya know Dave, I see you in D&S all the time so I am thinking to myself...."nah...you have to have posted here before" but I think you are right.
Nice work, very painterly.

32 Ford? Don't stop now, give it your best shot every time! Cars are hard to paint, but rewarding when you get them right!

Thanks Ian, don't worry I'll keep after it.
Thanks Rob. Not just a whole series, I actually hope to make "impressionistic" automotive themed paintings my main thing eventually.
Hi Dave and welcome, nice piece

Thanks Ken, Agnes.
Hi David: I hang out here a wee bit from time to time and the folks here are great. This is a cool painting. Nice honest approach to the vehicle. Love the brushwork.
