Hello all, again at the Kennels I'm doing another mural
this one is wilderness theme.
Its in one of the small what used to be an exam room of a vets.. now a boarding kennel. She has turned the rooms into individual private suites,
which will include a toddler bed with mattress for dog, tv for movies and lotsa toys and blankets.

There are two doors into suite(opposite each other..one entry and other goes back into Lab.

One wall..

Bears close up.. sorry for glare:

small wall to right of mural...

Small wall to left of large mural..

Opposite Large mural.. wall has a xray light to view films.( to left is a counter in corner)..
nothing on that wall either side of corner accept grass above splash guard, TV to go on counter.

To right of Xray film light...

Very impressive mural, Kathie! I love the bears and the idea of the different animals painted around the room. On the animal shadows, are you going to paint the color details or leave them as is? Either way the artwork is fabulous!

Hap, thanks, Yup keeping busy, will be doing two other rooms for them next!
Wilfred, thank you, I thought about the silouettes shadows not sure, might just leave it as it is. I appreciate it.

Oh wow, that is absolutely fantastic! Those trees especially... I bet the client is tickled pink!

How different is it to paint on this large a scale compare to usual size canvas? My son is asking me to do a mural for his room but I've been very reluctant not having gone bigger than 11x14!

Love the trees and it's good to see you going into murals must not be easy or maybe it's even easier to have such a huge space to let your imagination go wild. Love it Kathie.
PS. What is the largest painting you've done before going muralistic? lol just wondered how big a jump you had to take or did you just lead up to it in size?

THANK YOU Amanda and Shrl!!
Largest canvas painting I've done was 24x36"
Definately is a challenge.. Just took a few photos with me and started sketching them out with paint on brush on the wall and just went with it.
The under the sea one was alot of fun, back in march. realy helped me get comfortable with the mural idea!

two new photos of the room in use.. so cozy!!
the dogs actually use the toddler beds too!!
xray lamp acts as a night light and TV kept on for them.
usualy dvd's playing for them repeatedly.
and lots of toys too! home away from home!
overhead light was off so used flash.. so paled the colors..
walls actually more golden yellow as above photos.
