This is a quick little painting I did tonight. I had to have it done for a local benefit for a little girl with Leukemia. This is 8"x10", Mixed Media (Acrylics & Acrylic Inks). C & C welcome.

Thanks for looking!

and another AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW how adorable. I am really curious as to how your doing your backgrounds. They intrigue me esp since they are done in acrylics and inks. What a great little piece for a good cause.

Very cute, I like the use of Faux for a back ground.

Thank you, everyone!

I do my backgrounds primarily with acrylic inks. I either lay some color down with a brush and/ or drip/ drizzle it over the board and then I use a spray bottle with water and that's when it kind of does its own thing. I may blot with tissue paper or a sponge and I might use a hair dryer to speed up the drying time or to push the water/ ink around. And then maybe put down another layer. I'll spatter paint onto it too. There's no science to it, I just let the paint and water do its own thing and I enjoy that spontaneity.

Thanks again for the wonderful comments!
