Lorraine I really like your roses. For me roses are one of the hardest things to paint so I think you rendered them beautifully.

Fabulous roses!! Great colors.
Might I suggest to darken the background a bit more especially the lower half below the roses..
and lighten the leaves/stems some on the highlights..
makes the flowers and leaves stand out a bit more.

Thanks Haptopaint and Kathie for your comments and suggestion.

Lovely. You painted the petals nicely and have beautiful highlights.
I'd like to suggest in the future a slightly different crop. Perhaps it would look better to crop to the petals on the right side of the far right rose - as you have done on the left side of the painting (but not as much). I think that would give better balance to the composition.

Gosh they're lovely, they remind me of my Golden Girls floribundas out front. :) I'd agree about adding a touch more dark in the shadows under where the flowers and leaves would be shading the stems. :)

The colours are lovely Lorraine and the roses very realistic. Good advice from Kathie. Well done.

We can all make improvements but the hard work you put into this shows! I rather like it.
