WOW.. The reflection is very good. I can visualize that the real lake view itself is breathtaking. I recently happened to visit Crater lake ,Oregon and I really enjoyed the views of the lakes as I drove past Klamath Falls.

I went to Crater Lake several times many years ago. What I noticed the most was the bright blue color. Just about like your paintings!! (Turtle!!)

Kathie-
Thanks for the nice comment!! I am thinking about putting a rainbow jumping off the lake!! Think I should? With acrylic I can paint over if I do not like it later.
Thanks all.

Everything in this little masterpiece is terrific and you deserve extra, extra fabulouses..haha for the size, my goodness the detail is amazing.
No one else would get it perhaps, but you could always add the fly fishing line and lure coming from the side in the foreground, never mind just being silly, love it as is!

I guess I could put a dog barking on the woods, smoke and tent and other things!! Naw!! I think I will have the fish jumping. Wild fish!!

I think it is awesome how you were able to get so much detail into such a small painting. This is such a lovely mini !!!

OK. I just had to put a trout in the lake!!http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/12-Sep-2011/21877-P9117396s.jpg
I do need to soften some areas. The water hooks on to the trout. Maybe I need to darken the area in the back of the trout.

This is beautiful. It's hard to believe you got all that in on such a small surface. And the trout is a nice touch.

Jim, this is just great. I thought it was perfect just as it was, but the trout is a super addition.

Nan-
Thanks for the post. I missed it some how. I gave the painting to a artist friend. He had done so many things for me so I send it to him for Christmas. What did he do? He sent one of his to me!! Artists are good people!! Thanks again!!

Thanks everyone for the post!! Susan those trout at Trilliam Lake are really good eating!! Will start the season in March but not at Trilliam. The lake is filled up with snow. Will go to the coast where the weather is much warmer!!

I'm sure the painting is even more impressive up close. Pictures can take away many of the color details. Love the water!

Hi Jim.....
Awesome work on the water and it is difficult to believe that the painting is only 3 3/4" x 4 1/4". I love the vibrant colours.

Thanks for the post!! I went to a International Miniature Show last year. I was asked to be the Judge of the Show. I went and looked at 365 Miniatures all around the world. Looking at the originals is impressing!!! The challenge was giving only 13 awards!!! I had a blast to work with all those paintings!! If you ever get to go to a miniature show, GO!!!

Thanks again folks!!
(PS-- Will share one of my latest when I get my act together!!)
