View Full Version : More work on the Spring Blossom Miniatures

I've still been 'going at' the first one I did, and have now done parts 2 and 3 (but will probably 'go at' them some more as well). Here are some stages of part 3:

1 - Medium colours between darkest and lightest colour of each shape

2 - A few outlines

3 - Overlaps between petals

4 and 5 - Adding shadows

6 - Adding the purple that I like (which probably isn't really there, I just seem to see it)

7 - Adding white highlights

8 - All the pictures together so far

I should probably make them so that they would 'join up' if I put them up together - does this matter do you think?

Also - would it have helped my website in some way if I had linked these images from there instead of Photobucket?

Welcome to the forum Marion.
These are lovely little paintings and it's good to see the WIP format. (Are they 4" canvases?)
Joining them together would only matter if you intend to display them as a single unit :) The colours and subject link them well enough.

We always like people to upload their images via the WetCanvas Uploader because using an external host, as you have here, means that should you later remove them from that host, this thread becomes meaningless :)

WetCanvas also has a limit on size - 800p in any dimension, whereas your larger ones above are over 1000p.
Did you have problems with the uploader here? That's the only reason we 'turn a blind eye' to external hosting :) ;)

As for your website - you should be able to upload the images to that directly and display them as you wish :)

Oops! I'm sorry, I didn't realize there was an uploader we are supposed to use. I will use it next time and do it properly!

Yes, if you look at the 'Post Reply' box (not Quick Reply), you'll see the little mountain picture icon - that takes you to the Uploader.
There's also access to it via the Quick Links menu, blue bar, top right hand corner, just below your name and the 'Welcome Nature2Canvas' sign.:D

Don't worry about it - we've all had to learn about this site!:D

Nice bright and cheerful paintings. I dont think they are great as is. They go together fine in a grouping .unless you are going to join them as one painting.
