I like the quiet mood of this and can almost hear the water lapping.

Nice boat Dick! Is this the Issel river? Love some of the colour you used in the water.
This is a lovely picture, the composition, the colours and the technique all support each other. I would like to be in this picture right now.

This is a real beauty, Dima. As Nori said, you want to be there right now. Wonderful blues. I admire compositions that have a lot of space in them, as yours do, and you manage to fill every inch of the space beautifully, which is what I hope to do some day. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Dick. You feel the restfulness of the peaceful waters. If I were in that boat I'd be hoping for some wind.

Mmmm so restfull:clap: great work
Beautifully tranquil piece!:)
Redsy a 'botter' is the type of boat and the IJsselmeer is the lake it is sailing on.
Gina not the river IJssel but the lake that the river used to flow into.

Beautifully done. Your handling of the water is very good and the mood of the painting is great. But...please don't ask me to repeat the title of the painting.
Another winner here, Dick - it's great. Most has been said, it's tranquil and beautiful. Very well painted. Must say, I would (but you're not me) apply a touch less purplelish blue in it all - just to break it a little, but not to get rid of the wonderful feeling that has been created by using the same colours in the sky and the water. It's a touch too blue for me.
But, this is just a very minor point. I really like it!
oh, and....:D got no problems pronouncing the title...:D :D I think it is great that you keep the Dutch titles
