Is everyone ready for summer? I don't like too much heat, but it might be welcome after the miserable winter.
I'm going to try to get out and do some drawings of real trees, this month...a few watercolors, I hope.
What will you all be doing for the 4th? A family group or just lazing around?
Any way have fun......janet

ah , great seasonal drawing Janet. Just having a goal you like is a good start. Looking forward to seeing those trees
......sigh, we will not be going to the beach this year as we spent our nickel in Germany......
here is one of a couple of friends at coffee the other morning....I been glueing tissue randomly and then draw over it in a day or two unplanned..hence the polka dots and bits of color.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/03-Jul-2011/88676-ja206_copy.jpg

Here's what Toby's reading this summer!!
I got a few snaps of him on the bed beside the book. This one had red eye and I blacked it in. I wonder if its best to leave red-eye in photos or not?
I love the summery beach scene Janet. I could do with a visit there.
And I love the random element in your ink drwaing Robin. I did a couple of similar things a while back in that I pre-washed colours in my sketch-book then went out to the park and did ink drawings over them. I think its a great way to draw/paint!

my it is quiet here.......
we helped put a new roof on my daughter's house wed & thursday.....and then that super girl graduated from Nascar AutoMechanic school on friday!!
She is awesome........AND in 4 weeks she is going to the advanced Volvo manufacturer's school. So they are readying the house for sale.
Man - that was hard working on that roof in the 90 degree weather...really....took lots of breaks.
Toby is curled up with a good book....yep, I wonder what his version of Picasso would look like......:D..probably include a dog biscuit or a chewy stick

Back from a short beach trip with a tiny bit of sunburn. Had a flat tire on the trip home. Did get a fair amount of drawing done. I'll post this evening.
Hope you have a good day, do a little art, it's important to your soul & mine:thumbsup::heart::heart:

Hi Robin. I had a long walk to the park today and sat in the sun, walked back, had a huge lunch and fell asleep! Not a very artsy day. Rather an R&R.
The artomat project seems to be going well.
I am working on painted versions of my ink doodles from years ago. I swither between colour surrealism (where the colour is random) and representational colour for them.
Not that I know in advance which method will work. :D

Ida has posted a new project for us...on symbolism. Please take a look. Promises to be an exciting one!

Toby looks pretty serious about his Picasso book, and all ready to do a few paw abstracts.
Robin...nice Artomat. Have to find out more about this. You seem to put a lot of work into this and I'm curious about it.
The Ida project looks good and I hope to squeeze a couple of Cruikshanks out before the end of the month.
