Well I don't know what I have gotten myself into, but today I started my first commission. It is exciting and scary all at the same time. Long way to go as you can see, just blocked in did a bit more on the eyes tonight. Included the picture I have to go by as you can tell not great but it is all I have. C & C's welcome. Great start! You might want to check how "tall" the forehead is. I know I often misjudge and place it too low when I work on dog faces.

Thanks for your encouragement guys, I have been stuck at home in the rain for the May long weekend so I was able to do quite a bit of work on him. Hopefully I can post the finished product soon. Looking forward to hearing from you all. I will get your opinions before I show it to my client. I know you will be a terrific help. Thanks again. Will post soon (I hope).

Jackie. You are doing well so far. I would just check the size of the eye on the right of my screen. It seems quite a bit smaller than the left . I think this is because it was so dark in the reference and you had to in a sense 'manufacture' an eye. It is sometimes a good idea to look up a similar dog on google where the eye is more visible. Hope this helps a little.
