Thanks, Norm & Lorell. :)
Lorell, the “when” was at 6:45 AM on May 5, 1982 (yes, it’s 29 years and 2 days old; so it was quite damaged, required hours of editing, & still shows some damage).
As for “where”, I still keep my locations mostly a secret, just like the last time you asked me. :D But also like the last time you asked me, I’ll give you a hint, this time with another shot. The pic below is in the same area, taken only half an hour after the one above. If you’re still interested in more “where”, send me a PM. :)

You get anywhere near Bryce anymore?
Good shot and not one that most folks would shoot.

Thanks, Chuck. :) Hey, you let the mouse out of the bag so now the cats know where to pounce! :D No, I haven’t been there exploring since then and have only driven through the general area during a couple of trips on my way to this or that wildlife project.
I don’t imagine this scene (in the first pic) is photographed as much as others because it’s really good only in early morning sunlight, which I managed to catch while still yawning at 6:45 AM. And it could have been better yet if not color-damaged.

This area of the country is my favorite place to go. Scenic Route 12 in southern Utah is amazing!!! If I could have a little vacation cabin anywhere in the world that area is where it would be. Great pic also.

Thanks, danna. :) Yes, that’s quite a scenic route, though I wouldn’t want to drive much of it during winter. I think parts of it might even be closed then. And I know at least a few people who said that they will never drive it again because of some extra narrow spots and scary drop-offs close to the road’s edge, especially scary while driving a big RV or pulling a large camper trailer.

Awesome shots! I think I like the second photo even better than the first, due to the shadows and color contrast of the spires.

Thanks, Orchid Lady. :) Yes, the spires in the second pic definitely have much more color. That’s one reason why the spot in the first pic is only really good to shoot in the early morning. It needs the extra richness from the low sun angle then.
