I spent yesterday out painting so today was catch-up-around-the-house day. But it was soooo nice outside. I thought I heard someone say that the end of the world or some-such thing was coming so I figured I better not waste a gorgeous day. How do you like my excuse?

Anyway, I guess I was a bad boy and went out to the coast and painted at Bataquitos lagoon. What can I say... no will power! :rolleyes:

Oops. I just noticed that the white balance was off on my camera making the image above too warm. Here's one that's a little closer to the original....

Thanks Karen. Yeah, that big old eucalyptus is becoming sort of a landmark. I see it in a lot of paintings.

Actually, there wasn't a breath of wind when I was there this morning. Good thing, too. I already lost one umbrella to the Santa Ana's this year!

A nice peaceful feel to this one, I especially like the way you applied the strokes for the foliage. I was avoiding house work yesterday too since those nice sunny days are so few and far between here in Ontario as of late.

Nice work here! I think this was a great way to spend time today! Today was just too great to be inside.

We are up on the Central Coast Santa Maria area, just north of Santa Barbara and took a motorcycle-trike ride up to Morro Bay, Hurst castle, Ragged Point and just south of Gorda. Unfortunately we had to turn around as the road is closed because of a major land slide.

Guess tomorrow I need to get some real work done! But meanwhile I want to do some journal sketches...pen and watercolor...but great way to make a diary!
