I was told that it was not a good idea. I think Dale migh tcould help you here. I think it turns your glass black and scummy. Iam sure there will be someone to jump in and help you more than I did.

I use Chemtane. According to the welding supply store and chemtane's own website, it's the cleanest brazing fuel you can use.
I don't know if Chemtane and Chemolene are the same...sorry

I use FLAMEX, my friend owns a car dealership that also has a body shop. He gets it from the welding supply company. I haven't had any problems with it.
Chemolene is an additive that works with propane. It comes in a separate tank that goes between your propane tank and your torch. I haven't tried it, but some folks swear by it. You might try Ricky Charles Dodson's website (http://www.lampwork.com) for information.
Chemtane is a brazing gas which is propane plus an additive. I used it on a Hot Head until I got a Lynx. It burns about 300 degrees F hotter than Mapp. It also is more stable, less toxic, and has a higher vapor pressure based on the best information I have been able to find.

I use chemolene when I have access to it. I like it because it does burn cleaner, but it sure burns quicker! I have a tank of propylene still from June.

Thanks for all your help. We are going next week to purchase and get our tanks filled. Didn't know which was best to get since both are available in our area. chemolene is much cheaper than propelene.
