UK artist Margaret Evans is back with Artistsnetwork.tv (http://www.ArtistsNetwork.tv)for part 1 of her detailed Pen & Wash course. She starts by showing you how to use pen & ink in your sketches and watercolor paintings so that you get a feel for inksí characteristics and applications. Then follow her through three full-length demonstrations combining ink with watercolor to create a wonderful variety of scenes including people, water and buildings.

In this preview youíll practice using a water-soluble pen to work out the tonal values of your painting before you add your watercolor. Then watch how you can bring the pen back in at the end to help tie the painting together. Visit ArtistsNetwork.tv (http://player.delvenetworks.com/preview/?m=917efe67e7a545329dd2dc5c9b559ad7) for access to the full-length video.

I like the pen and wondered where she bought it.

Great question about the pen!
Margaret let me know that she uses stabilo point 68's and point 88's.
Doing a quick Google search, I see they are available from several art supply and office supply stores.
Enjoy :)

Margaret Evans is great. I love her style of sketching, whether it's in pen and watercolor or pastels.

Blick has the Point 88 pens and mini Point 88 pens. Also if you get a full range set of Carb-Othello pastel pencils (60 color tin) you can get a ten pack of Point 88 pens free with it while supplies last. I just ordered it so I know they still have that set.
