The eye and collar are looking great. There looks to be the reflection of a window in the eye. It makes me wonder what bird or squirrel he is watching so intently! :)

Very nice WIP, Rosa.
What is Suede board like to work on? I notice you can get good details in your example.

Working on suede board is easy different and fun,
it goes on smooth but you really have to go back and add more color if your using regular pencils, when I use the Neo colors they saturate the fuzz and
be come quite bold. I would sugest giving it a try. I got my boards from my framer when he was making a frame using suede board he gave me the cut out for a couple of bucks. Good luck
Rosa:)

stunning so far. I also like suede matt board but have used it only for soft pastels so far.
What are neo in reference to pencils? When I hear that I think of neopastels (oil pastels br Caran) so unsure what the ones you refer to are.
Thanks

I've fooled around on suede board, but haven't got serious about it, but I like the way it feels.

Wonderful work so far. Love the reflection in his eye of the window and the fur looks so soft and touchable.

Thanks guys I love cats too. The Neo Colors I am talking about are the Neocolor water soluble crayons there yummy smooth and creamy I use them on the Icarus board they melt like butter. They also melt in water and can be used like a more dense water color I think there the coolest crayons on the market.

Fantastic start, Rosa! As usual you are nailing this! I did a buffalo on same colored suede board. It is a trip to work on!! You are sooooo right. You do have to go back with color again and again sometimes. My Holbeins are soft and worked well to saturate also. Keep up the GREAT work!
