04-12-2011, 02:10 AM
Hi all you Washers.
Up bright and early again today because it's my morning at iThemba so I'll be out for most of the day - got some grocery shopping to do too.
Thought I'd share my sunrise with you guys this morning - because the sky is just so lovely
It's the view from my lounge window - don't you just love it? I can just see that sky in a watercolour painting with all the lovely soft colours. Fabulous
Well have a great day all you washers. I'll check in later.
Nola - last day before you enter the LONI :) In case I miss you a special :grouphug: and  and have a GREAT time - we'll miss you
Later guys and gals.
04-12-2011, 02:29 AM
Morning Gill....and all following.
If WC had let me in I could of Wash started an hour ago but it didn't want to know me!
We had a similar sunrise today but now clouding over,as forecast!
Yes Nola....have fun in LONI....I'll be thinking of your comforts such as that huge bed when I'm,hopefully, in my new caravan this weekend......
Off for some 'seedy' toast, then a mornings golf and pick my lawn mower up from service company...
04-12-2011, 02:31 AM
Good morning Gill and all to follow.
Beautiful view you have from your window Gill. That's one thing I miss living on an urban estate.
Well it's a nice morning here too, plenty of blue sky and clouds scudding by though quite a bit cooler at 46F.
Waiting for a call from a insurance company plumber to replace the shower pump. The leak is much reduced but still weeping.
Normally I would tackle this sort of thing myself - I installed the pump some 15 years ago - but old age and tight corners don't agree now and I have a bad back from trying to stop it on Saturday.
Welcome to Kiran (the other one) always good to see new members from around the world.
Bowls this afternoon.
04-12-2011, 03:15 AM
Mornin each ............
Quite a bit colder today ............. Brrrrrrrrrrr!!!! Will get even colder as the week progresses ...
I have been painting fence panels over the weekend, couldn't yesterday as it rained .......... My neighbour came round to speak to me yesterday and asked if I could paint his side too!!!!!!!!!!! Well he did say that the fence would last longer if his side was painted and he couldn't do it, ............. true I suppose but he can't do it only because he doesn't want too! He even offered to pay me ...... the cheek of it ........ :)
Got my art group later, we started a Venice scene last week from a photo from one of our members, but I haven't lifted a brush to it since so will have to finish it at the group meeting later .............. that reminds me I painted some poppies a few week ago and forgot to post them in the gallery will go and route out the painting from the depths of my studio ...............:) and post it later.
OK I'm off will see you all later ........... Oh almost forgot ........
Gill, thanks for filling me in on the Kindle the other day ........... I noticed that you mentioned difficulty in getting 'real' books at a reasonable price .... Have you tried The Book Depository? SEEHERE (http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/) they have good priced and discounted books and ship world wide for free and may have a link for your country.
Bye ....................
04-12-2011, 04:36 AM

But :crying::crying: :crying: at the end of the day :) ... bugger all that ... you're going fishing and camping. Have a GREAT time. See you in the Spring.
Used up all my emoticon allowance so  (oops not quite  ... stop it  )
OK .. HI to all following (nil wavy thing)
but old age and tight corners .....I have a bad back from trying to stop it on Saturday.
Sorry you weren't successful in stopping old age on Saturday Doug...maybe try Monday:lol:
Evening each! Tis 9 pm here and we have had a beautiful day. Cool start and then the temp got to 23C. Out and about, gyming, cafe latte-ing, walking, home to mow the lawn etc
Gill, what a beautiful view! wow, very Africa.
Annie, you always make me :)
I think we ALL will miss Nola! and we will think of her enjoying herself and in her big bed lol
Kev, you sure have a cheeky neighbour lol
Enjoy your golf Geoff.
Enjoy your Tuesday everyone:wave:

I have discovered, we don't have a Geek Forum here on WC :(
Does anyone know how to remove the administrator, from Windows Vista? I am administrator, but I have an administrator account s well. I wont to delete the administrator account as it messes with things I am trying to do. Files I wont to open, wont, because it says I need to be administrator. (I am) sigh. If I do in to the administrator account, then I can't access the files as they are in my JJ/Administrator A/c. I want it gone. I do go into the section where one has the option to remove users, but "it" will not let me remove the admin a/c. Says access denied grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
When I was tidying my pc up one time, via Geeks.com they had me put a password into the bios section. I want that gone too, but can't. I get into it alright, through safe mode. There is an area there to change password, and when I leave it blank it will not allow me to save it. Double Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Driving me to disrtaction.
I have googled..... but I really don't understand half what I have read to do, and I am not sure about downloading things. Surely that isn't necessary to get rid of a measly password and Admin a/c??
04-12-2011, 05:39 AM
hi folks him again
JJ in vista if you remove the administer you remove your self you have to go in the administrator account and make other have administrator power
I been play with some paint and ink
I think you may recognise the subject
its painted on A5 150 gsm Cartridge paper
I thought the geese look better for real that in my painting those
04-12-2011, 05:39 AM
It's a geeky problem Judy, I'm afraid I would be googling for an answer too.
04-12-2011, 05:41 AM
hi Doug we X post I had similarly problem that work on mine I use Vista
here a page with may help thee JJ
it remove the login password if that what you wish to do
P.S that web site may help with other things too
04-12-2011, 05:44 AM
Peter, I am administrator, and I made a separate admin a/c under instruction, but I hate it. I messes with "stuff" If I go to do something I get a message to log in as admin
Yes it is a geek question Doug. I have googled, but I am not sure about what I am reading. I have since the above post joined another Geek site How-To Geek Forums and asked them..
I shall go pour a glass of wine and eat my dinner/supper now. I baked lamb shanks. Mouth is watering :D
04-12-2011, 05:48 AM
It is 5:30 AM here in Ohio. I think our day is to have some rain showers and temps in 50's.
I will be watching the shop today as usual for Tuesday. I will be walking the 5 blocks downtown this morning as Josh needs my car to go to Staples to talk to someone about a job opportunity. I sure hope it works out.
Nola - have a great trip
Reggie - The VA story is huge here in Dayton. I think that they have found about 10 people who have Hepatitis. My job hunt is going slow only because of me. I am signing up with a temp agency later this week and don't know how that will turn out.
I think I would like home health but with the gas $$$ expected to go even higher I think I would burn up most of the $$ I would make in gas plus the wear and tear on my car.
I am really going to look for an office job and it would be nice if it were healthcare related but I have also decided that it does not have to be. Part time would be OK with me also --so we shall see.
Uschi - I checked out Staples for printing out some note cards and the young girl who I dealt with told me that it was $.98 for 1 page of cardstock. Do you print your own cards????
We have a big announcement today in Dayton area --Will the USAF Museum get the space shuttle. They will be making the announcement from the museum today about 1pm. (sorry for the spelling)
Talked with oldest son last night in N. Dakota - he had been working long shifts for the past 2 weeks getting ready for inspections. Doing well and sometime next week they will have a list of bases with openings for his next assignment. He should know by July where they will be going.
OK --will read wash later this evening -- everyone have a great day
PS: Hap - Glad you had such a great weekend. I have been meaning to ask you what your job at the ballpark is???
04-12-2011, 05:56 AM
Peter, I am administrator, and I made a s
you may not be administrator in both account
04-12-2011, 06:04 AM
JJ it is the User Account login that is the problem. When you set the computer up you must have selected it's use for different user accounts. All you need to do is go back to the windows set up and remove the user account set up. When you set the machine up just leave the password section blank and the computer will assume that you are the Administrator.
The other way, and this may be simpler and safer, is to log in as the Administrator and then bring up the User accounts enter the profile of the account you want and then make that account a joint Administrator Account. Remember you can only do this while logged in as Administrator.
Don't ask me how to do all this I would only have to look in the help screens and you can do that ...........
For your other problem. You need to enter the BIOS at StartUp, it is not via the Safe Mode 2 completely different things either by pressing F8 or Del keys or whatever key your computer asks for, you can usually get a glimpse of this when your computer first starts up. It is only a splash screen and is only in view for seconds. It will be in your manual though. When I do it I just keep on taping the key fast when the splash screen appears, sometimes it doesn't register. You will need to enter your password, when in the BIOS find the password section and remove the Password. On the screen you will see instructions on what to do to save it usually F10 the you need to press something like F12 to save the whole thing ............... WARNING >>>>>>>>>> do not touch anything else while in there, don't go looking around and poking your nose into other pages ........... if you do you could break the whole thing ...... If you think you have done some thing inside the BIOS come out of it by pressing DON'T SAVE or Cancel, or whatever it tells you to do, then you can go in and try again later.
All this info is given for you to try at your own risk ......... messing about with User settings and BIOS is dangerous ..............
04-12-2011, 06:27 AM
J ............... WARNING >>>>>>>>>> do not touch anything else while in there, don't go looking around and poking your nose into other pages ........... You know me so well!!  Thanks Kev I will give it a go.. Later..

04-12-2011, 07:02 AM
No .............. or at least I don't think so. All your stuff will just end up in folders accessible to you the Administrator. I changed mine years ago when using XP.

Good morning folks! It is a partly sunny morning but soon to be cloudy and rainy. yesterday ended up only to be 60, a long way from the predicted 78! Went shopping, got a new Pandora charm for my bracelet, a pretty spring green! Also got to Borders and bought a book on CDs for my ride to work. Then off to TJMax and got a beautiful new white leather shoulder bag for the spring and summer. Had dinner at Applebee's.
Today, several good lectures then later around 5pm will take a ride to the casino.
Nola- have a great time! We will miss you!!! Pleasse check in when you can!!
HI Kev, Anita, Doug ,JJ, Gill,Peter and anyone i may have missed and all to come!
04-12-2011, 07:41 AM
Before all changes like this you should backup your files anyway ...... any tinkering with 'bits' can cause all sorts of problems ... computers are built that way .............
If you don't want to sort out any aftermath then don't tinker .........
Don't say you haven't been warned ........... but either of these changes are accessible to anyone and are not difficult just take reasonable steps before you do anything. ......... Fools rush in and all that............
04-12-2011, 07:58 AM
Ok. Advice taken :)
Now I am off to check out flights>> :D

We will be in Karratha on Friday and will be staying for over a week so I am hoping to be able to check in whilst there. It has been a loooooong day (St. Nola is pooped Annie) I am afraid I haven't got it in me to reply individually, but you all know I refer to you when I say you will be missed.
My kindred spirit Geoff, will be off caravaning by the weekend and I will think of you too. Good luck with the new van.
St Annie of the Gouache, I will have to check in shortly to see your rendition of the Wynjanna Gorge pic. I have been dieing to see it painted by someone, and I know you will do a lovely job.
Bye Bye for now everyone.
04-12-2011, 08:03 AM
Good MOrning Everyone!!!
Blue sky, sun is up and cooler than the last two days, going up to 11C.
Today is a free day, no sports, no appointments, no gallery work, so I think I'll get some stuff ready for the art sale on Saturday and then more gardening in the afternoon.
JJ, I am so stupid about computers I am scared to download anything or poke my nose into anything LOL Whatever my son set up originally (9 years ago) I work with it.
:grouphug: Nola :grouphug: Have a wonderful trip and YES, we will miss you a lot :crying:
Sylvia, wonderful that you found a reference you are excited to paint!!! That makes all the difference.
Anita, I print some of my own cards and let Staples print some of them, namely the ones that are very saturated with colour, I don't want them to eat up all of my ink. Staples charges 79 cents per page, 49 cents for the printing and 30cents for the cardstock. Temp agencies might be a good place to start, several of my friends have eventually been hired by companies they have tempted for.
Kev, smart neighbour, you know what they say "just ask, all they can say is NO" :) Have you heard anything about the fluid in your hip?
Peterowl, nice painting!!!!!
Doug, that leak is turning into quite the nuisance, I hope it gets fixed soon.
Gill, lovely, lovely view and sunrise!!!
Kiran, WELCOME to Wet Canvas and the Wash!!!
Geoff, Lulu, Annie, Ona  to you!!! and all to come!!
04-12-2011, 08:09 AM
Hi, walked uptown to have breakfast at Hannahs, but it was closed! Not ususal, so now we are concerned:confused:
Had our bacon butties at another shop but not the same, had the feeling the bacon had been pre-cooked, and warmed up, so a bit tough.
Kev, about the lazy neighbor, find a charity who will paint the fence for him and get him in touch with them
Got to go, get the bedroom ready for new carpeting tomorrow.
04-12-2011, 08:19 AM
Good morning! The glorious, glorious sun is shining... Spring really has Sprung! :) It's supposed to cloud up, but for now, we get to enjoy the bright light.
It's another busy Class day for me. And I don't have anything else exciting that's happening... Matt's off to school... his "year" is nearly finished and he'll be writing exams shortly and is getting nervous about it... We had coffee together this morning before he had to leave, so I'm having my second cup already while visiting WC!
Hap, I keep missing you... so just want to  hi!
Nola... is it time already??? :crying: Have a great time in LONI and hurry back! ((()))
What a beautiful sunrise, Gill! Get your brushes out...
Well, Geoff... despite the gremlins in WC, WE want to know you!!! Glad you finally got in... happy golfing!
Doug, dear heart... regardless of whether or not your insurance will pay to have this leak fixed, you're going to need to call someone to repair it for you... it's not going to get better, you know... ((()))
Hi Kev... there's painting and then, there's painting eh? If your neighbour is willing to pay you, why hasn't he hired someone to paint his side then? I'll check out your poppies, knowing in advance that I'm going to love them!
Hi Annie... emoticons have never been so well placed...
Lulu... So... it got to 23C here for a bit yesterday and we were throwing off sweaters and getting into shorts and sandals... Did you bundle up? :p
Begs the question, JJ... why on earth would you change things you know nothing about in the first place? Take your laptop to someone who'll fix it before you really break it and lose all your files!
Beautiful pen and wash, PeterOwl!!
:crossfingers: Anita for your Josh's job hunt... and yours!
Hi Reggie... sounds like you're really enjoying this Conference and all the extra curricular activities... :)
Hi Uschi... our yard is still too wet to get onto, so no need for gardening yet. It's still a little early and heavy frosts are possible, too... Good luck with your art sale stuff... Are you taking anything big, or selling your small pieces and cards?
Welcome to the Wash Kiran!
And... it's time for me to log off and get my own stuff together... I hope that everyone has the best possible day... :grouphug:
 We x-posted Judy!
04-12-2011, 08:32 AM
NOLA have an absolutely wonderful trip. I know you will take heaps of photos to share.
I am looking forward to your checkin in Karratha. Stay safe and have a ball..    :grouphug:
04-12-2011, 08:38 AM
Happy Tuesday all,
Kev, you should have told your neighbor "sure i'll paint your side too.....but you probably couldn't AFFORD ME!" :D
JJ, be VERY careful in adjusting "your bits." Losing stuff is awful.
WAVING TO NOLA:grouphug:  We'll miss you tons.
Reggie, good for you, lovely pressies for yourself...perhaps you'll win some more spending money at the casino.;)
Uschi, yes my daffs and hyacinths are in bloom now....tulips will be shortly. HOWEVER the weather forecast for this Saturday is calling for SNOW showers.:o
I had a pretty good day yesterday and it was a productive one. Even though the sun didn't shine until later in the evening it was fairly mild.
The pollen will soon be in abundance and I'm sure we will all be on our allergy meds.:D
Anita, have a nice walk and best of luck to JOSH!
Well, best get myself to work here....thanks for all your support these last few weeks.
Enjoy your day all;
04-12-2011, 08:43 AM
Nola, enjoy the LONI. :)
04-12-2011, 08:52 AM
Back from my morning outing and just had lunch.
Doug and Geoff seems like you have a sporting day going - hope you enjoy your respective outdoor activities.
Kev thanks for the tip on The Book Depository - I will definitely check it out.
 Cheerio Nola! Have a wonderful time - tight lines, soft beds, magic painting. See you when we see you.
Annie - your post made me :D - loved it!
JJ - sorry about the geek problems - i'm a technosaurus I'm afraid so wouldn't be able to help at all - hope you get it sorted! :crossfingers:
Nice skywash Peter Owl
Lulu, your days sounds fabulous and the weather great too - are your autumns as nice as ours?
Hi Anita - :crossfingers: for your job search - hope your son's goes well too.
Reggie, sounds like you had a little retail therapy fun
Uschi - enjoy your free day - they don't come around too often
Charm how many students do you have and what do you teach them and how often? I'm thinking of offering lessons too.
Hello also to Lyn, Darla, JudyL and everyone still to come.
Happy day all.
04-12-2011, 09:25 AM
Begs the question, JJ... why on earth would you change things you know nothing about in the first place? Take your laptop to someone who'll fix it before you really break it and lose all your files! Yes Mum :D actually you are right, and I think I will, I don't feel comfortable messing around "in there" anymore. I do have everything backed up now, but still, that isn't the point.
Peter, that is what is confusing. I am administrator in both accounts, so I can't understand why I can't remove one. I think I am in the wrong area to do it is all. But, I am really hesitant to dig deeper, I did that this evening, and got overwhelmed. :D
I just went and looked at your sunrise! Wow. I love it, You are pretty good with that pen and ink!
Now I must get myself to bed!!
04-12-2011, 09:49 AM
Very bright but very breezy, kept my sweater on for 18 holes of golf but somewhat lathered on return!
Went out yesterday and bought another small camera to replace the one in the caravan....I have had the Canon Ixus 105, a small thing, for a year and found it an excellent tool...nothing like the JJ kit or the Hap pro-stuff though.
One shop I had used in the past had just closed no luck there, then Googled the make/model to find that our biggest retailer had a promotion.....about 40% less than I paid a year ago...so we went to see them....Oh we have discontinued that line, we only have a display model left and no more coming in. So I asked if they would sell the display model and if so what discount would I get....yes they would sell the camera and give a free case, so I asked about a memory card too...and ended up with 2 x 4GB cards as well..free of charge...so well pleased.
Just been in garden and surprised that the daffodils have all but gone on the patio but in a week the tulips have shot forth.....a couple of trial shots with new camera.....
The white stuff tumbling onto the pavement on the first one is a Spring Heather and the purple low ground cover plants are aubretia.

Well, far too many to reply individually.
I have spent most of today firstly doing the shopping for tomorrow evenings Wood Fired Pizza Night. Then once home and all that put away, I helped Monty again. As I said we have what is called " Bulk Rubbish Collection" it comes around once every 9 months. We have trimmed loads of plants and bushes, and it has taken us the best part of 2 days to trim 9 Golden Cypress Trees. They more or less privide a large privacy border between us and our neighbor slightly above us. This year Montynot only tidied them up, but also lopped the tops off as they are gettingvery tall. He has also put most out on the verge ready for collection, and is hoping to be able to clean the rest up and put it out there in the morning. I also. Anaged to get my Washing and Ironing done o er the two days inbetween giving Monty a hand.
Must go to bed as we have another big day and evening ahead of us tomorrow.
Lots of Love Carolynn :grouphug: :grouphug:    :) :)      :grouphug: :grouphug:
04-12-2011, 11:21 AM
Morning Everyone
Had a job interview yesterday and looks promising.
Currently 1/2 finished commissioned painting. Will be doing more work on that today.
Changing over internet and telephone lines in the townhouse tomorrow.
Gill - you are so lucky to have a view of the surise like that. NICE:cat:
All for now.

Good Morning Washerbuddies!!!
Quite the busy wash this morning! Spring must be in the air!! It was 0c this mornging so I scraped wifey's windshield so she'd be able to just pop in the car and go! Our weather is "off and on"..rain one moment, sunny the next and hail in between! I got home yesterday and what should I find...but a parcel in the mail box! MOST unexpected! what could it be I have not ordered anything lately:angel: ! Hey! It's from OZ!?! Opened it and Lo and behold it's from our own JJ Bell!! A wonderful card for my birthday (I love butterflies!) AND a painting!! Two escorts as well to keep it safe on it's long journey over the sea!!
Isn't that GORGEOUS?!! Thank you SO much JJ! What a thrill!
Gill that is a gorgeous view! Isn't it nice to have a picturesque countryside nearby!
Doug, I'm with you...my back and knee keep me from doing a lot of things...and I am willing to pay to have someone do them properly instead of me getting it all crossed up when I try it!!
Kev, good to see you posting again! I think we all have a "cheeky neighbor" story...your's is pretty tame! There are some folks down the road from me who came to blows over an argument about where to put the trash bins on collection day..seems one fellow did NOT want the other's bin in front of HIS house...ended up with the police being called and both got arrested!
Nope, it was NOT me!!
Annie, your mountain estate is like camping all the time!! What a neat hideaway you have!!
LuLu, hope your itchies and rash have disappeared, it sounds like you're back to your energetic and busy self!
JJ, Thank you Thank you THANK you! what a NICE surprise!!:D
Peter, good colors on that sunrise! It FEELS spring-ish!!
Anita, good luck at the shop! I am a Seating Host at the ballpark, half way between an Usher and a bouncer  , it's a fun job that does not pay much in $$ but it's a great load of fun each night I'm there!!
Reggie, I try to get all my "books on CD" at half price books...they are MUCH cheaper!! and I can afford to switch them out from time to time!
Nola! Go Fishing, have fun
On the beach and in the sun
Think of us from time to time
We'll be thinking of you
Jealous a bit for the big bluebone
and the comfy 'Van you call home!
Wish we could all join you there
With a stubby by the evening fire!
Soon you'll return with stories galore
About the one that got away...
and many more!!
Till then, Goodbye isn't the word
It's "ENJOY YOURSELF YOU LUCKY BIRD"!
Uschi...what...no plans?? You'll come up with something I'm SURE!!
Kiran, welcome to the wash, always room for one more!!
Judy, a "substitute" buttie is never as good as the one you
were pining for!!
Char, have fun with your classes today, you know we'd all love to join you!!
Darla, :grouphug: We're thinking of you everyday, glad to see you posting, and enjoying life a bit more!
Geoff, looks like the new camera will do the trick!
Carolynn, you're so busy it would wear two people out!! Enjoy the Pizza night!
Well I have chores to do today before I can leave for the ballpark. Day game tomorrow, so I'll be leaving the house too early to turn on the puter so I'll see you all on Thursday!!
Ellen in Ont

I've caught up on reading the washes while eating my lunch. Now I have to put some wash out on the line. First time the snow has been low enough this year not to have them dragging in it. It is supposed to snow again the last part of the week but I am hoping we don't get much accumulation.
I have tons of work to do on the computer again today and still working on those taxes. I do have Turbo tax program (someone asked) but I am doing multiple taxes and my painting stuff is a business so prep work getting the books all totalled up according to their categories takes time as well.
Nola - have a great trip to the LONI. We'll miss you.
Lots going on in the washes so I'll just say have a great day everyone and get on with my jobs here.:grouphug:
04-12-2011, 01:12 PM
Bon voyage Nola, have a good break and come home safely.
Insurance company will not pay for the shower pump - it os classed as a "domestic appliance" I'll get a plumber in to change the pump.
Now all I have to say is " What Hap said" :)
04-12-2011, 06:44 PM
nipping in and nipping off. It's 6.45 here and we're having a cup of tea for the road. Thanks everyone for your good wishes and Hap Hap Happy, thank you so much for waxing poetic.
04-12-2011, 07:45 PM
Bye Nola
Have a wonderful time !!!!!!!
04-12-2011, 07:58 PM
 So long for now, Nola!
04-12-2011, 08:23 PM
Just popping in before I hit the sack..........Moira and hubby have just come in from a night out - the kids are on a sleepover at Liams so it has been pretty quiet here in Brogan Towers - I fell asleep on my couch again.
Yesterday we went to Southport on the train which was an experience for the kids - when we arrived it was drizzling but we had a walk along Lord Street which fortunately is covered. We also went into the Wayfarer Arcade which has a fabulous bookshop that sells old books. I said to the kids - See this is what you don't get with a Kindle - the smell of books - the FEEL of books......of course they ignored me.......LOL.
We had a bit of a ' you've been framed ' moment with Mum - she was using one of the public toilets on the promenade but I had forgotten to tell her how to open the door - although it was straightforward Mum is known to get it wrong.
She got it wrong this time - of course we were trying not to shout through the door so as not to draw attention to the predicament but with her being deaf we had too. We ended up laughing our heads off while Jamie was trying to explain to her how to open the door - of course other people passing by smiled to themselves.
She was locking the door then turning the handle instead of unlocking it and turning the handle - eventually we managed to get her free and she walked out to a round of applause........LOL.
All in all a good day all round - but boy was I knackered when we got home - all that fresh sea air - not that you are likely to see the sea at Southport - we tried to pretend to the kids that the boating lake was a lagoon but they weren't convinced.....LOL.
