View Full Version : Black naped ORIOLE

The obvious choice for "O" is Owl or Ostrich. Many have done Owl before me
and Ostrich with its long and thin legs and neck will take away a lot of space
So I decided on Oriole - a black naped one.
I was spending a lot of my time watching another WC for the past six weeks ,where our nation's pride is involved . Happily India emerged triumphant and it is all celebrations all over the country .We are now No.1 in both formats of the Game. There was hope when the two strong contestants,OZ and SA, made early exit . Patrick will be disappointed but can take comfort in that SA can claim a share in the glory with Gary Kirsten being in the team, as a coach. This is just an aside .
Now on I will be able to devote more time to WC forums and I will be trying to finish the Bird series much earlier than originally planned

Thanks for Viewing

Love the bird Venkat.

By the way #1, did you know that on world cup final night you couldn't find a taxi in Adelaide  I think 70-80% of our taxi drivers are Indian and they were all watching the cricket. I say good on you, you were the best team and deserved the victory and I have to say I'm delighted for Sachin especially since it crowns a magnificent career.

By the way #2, we used to have Golden Orioles in Africa and you could hardly ever see them because they would "throw" their voice. You would swear it was in a tree in front of you but it would be behind you! Weird huh!

Another great piece, Venkat!! I've always liked the colors of Orioles. We see the Baltimore Oriole here during the summer. I've never seen this species though. Very cool!
